TBH Sandy, and many won't like this, but I think you may be proven right.
Even to play games behind closed doors, you need huge TV crews, squads, coaches, physios, hotels, transport, police etc all to come together.

at the very earliest it will be 2021 before a ball is kicked.
=========================
That was my opinion at the start of last week and actually said so on here.
I think this is far worse than being told. We are just being drip fed with info so as to not alarm us.
It won't be just the fact that we have to isolate and eliminate this virus, but also keep the isolation going for a while after, to ensure anyone still with symptoms are not passing it on, and then probably tests will start on those who had it and have recovered. Then another phase is needed to ensure that no new persons with symptoms etc.
While they are doing these tests etc, I guess no gathering will take place.
I have a feeling BT/Sky know that it might next year before footy is back and are slowing down the numbers of people leaving them.

The Government will never allow that to happen. Just fanciful reporting.
I think we will continue in Feb/March next year and finish off the league then.
I don't think there will be any football this year, its just not worth the risk
Football is suspended indefinitely, that won't change for a while sadly.
The season will continue in July. Just because some expert says lockdown 6 months, doesn’t mean it will happen. I reckon they will thrash out all the fixtures to try and get ready for the new season which might be delayed slightly. Footy will resume Sandy.

Don, there is zero chance of any football happening in July, that is only three/four months away, and some people have been put in total lockdown for that length of time. Not happening mate, or certainly not that quick.
As I have always maintained I expect this season will eventually be cancelled, and the new one will start as soon as possible in 2021.

China got rid of it in 3 months and South Korea have pretty much eradicated it. Why are we so special as to be in lockdown for 6 months ? I think people need to be cautious but also get a grip. This won’t go on all year like people are predicting. China are slowly getting back to normal life now. Like I said, give it a few months and life will slowly ease back. The footy will resume late summer at some point.
Also something to consider is they think this virus will be coming back later this year
What then This is why I don't think they will cancel the season this far in when it looks like we could potentially have many stoppages in the coming years until this is sorted.
Also if there's no football until early next year there won't be time for a season so they will finish this one
What do you want, the league cancelled every time there is an outbreak
I'd guess around this time next year

Transfer windows can still happen. We have a transfer window in Jan don’t we ? That’s in the middle of the season. Playing football doesn’t stop a transfer window. Pre season will be scrapped, but the clubs are getting pre season competitive games anyway as they will be playing the season during the pre season. Let’s get back to some sort of normality first by combating this virus which I believe we will do slowly by the summer. Then we can resume the footy which I think will happen. Like I said, late July or august the season will resume.

I think I will be right mate. People really need to stop with the negativity. “ we are going to be in lockdown for a year “ .... “ this will never go away “ .... “ football will never resume “ oh I mean FFS, China who had the most severe case on the planet have pretty much eradicated it in a few months. We will get rid of this thing and normal life will slowly resume by late summer.

The season will continue in July. Just because some expert says lockdown 6 months, doesn’t mean it will happen. I reckon they will thrash out all the fixtures to try and get ready for the new season which might be delayed slightly. Footy will resume Sandy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not this year, I just don't see it given the social distancing that will be required even after we come out of isolation
You can't have one rule for sports people and another for the general population
----------------------------------------------------------------------
China got rid of it in 3 months and South Korea have pretty much eradicated it. Why are we so special as to be in lockdown for 6 months ? I think people need to be cautious but also get a grip. This won’t go on all year like people are predicting. China are slowly getting back to normal life now. Like I said, give it a few months and life will slowly ease back. The footy will resume late summer at some point.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Because you have some people in the UK who don't care and do what they want.
The police are too lenient and let people off.
This is why this will role on longer than the countries you have mentioned above.
Hope I'm wrong btw
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Mate, have you seen the streets ? Empty. The vast majority of people are listening. The select few of t*** maybe not, but this won’t make much difference. In general people are staying at home apart from key worker and essential shopping. We will rid of this in a few months just watch.

If it did, then you have to ask yourself what will happen to transfer window, to pre-seasons, to playing games in the far flung areas of the world?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Transfer windows can still happen.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If its late July/August then finishing this season will impact on the start of next which I don't think will be allowed to happen.
As I've said all along I think the powers that be will prioritise playing the whole of next season over salvaging this one.

It’s hardly a huge percentage though is it ? A few buffoons ate congregating in parks etc , but recently that’s started to slow down since police are getting stricter. There will always be idiots about, but in general the vast majority are following the advice.
