They probably can afford to pay the non paying staff otherwise they wouldn't have back tracked. Either that or they're very wary of what this would do to their reputation long term, if they went ahead with it.

They are correct though in that their income has stopped but their outgoings are the same.

I could have advised them that is was the worst possible decision to take and now here they are having incurred the reputation damage doing a humbling climbdown

Yes fair play from them, they realised it was hurting their reputation and backtracked. Not easy to do, but it was so clearly wrong when many poorer clubs were not.

Indeed.

Damage done but at least they have reversed it so fair play on that.

The club and owners are pretty good for listening to the fans on most things so we are fortunate for that.
