Also are there any cyclists here?
I’m thinking of buying a bike and getting into cycling. Not gonna cycle to work when the lockdown is lifted and don’t plan mountain biking etc. Just want one for roads and parks really
Any idea of an appropriate amount to spend ?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If you're just doing it casually then there's absolutely no need to spend too much. You want to be looking at "hybrid bikes".
If you're in a flat area you can get this for £100 from Halfords:
https://www.halfords.com/bikes/hybrid-bikes/indi-tc1-mens-588332.html
Or you can spend up to maybe £350 for more features/better quality, but no need to spend any more than that.
I’ve been trapped inside on quarantine. Today is day 10 and it’s beautiful outside
Found some decent beginner-level YouTube yoga clips to complement my HIIT home workouts.
Still go to work. Still exercising every day indoors and outdoors. Managed to see may parents yesterday after a while. Started BBQ. Just miss live football.
Joggers are the biggest bunch of s on the planet right now. Literally puffing and panting around the neighbourhoods oblivious to the fact their actions are the equivalent of walking the streets coughing and spluttering away. s
I can't get out much due to being high risk which sucks , I may start doing some exercise tomorrow as I'm bored silly.
Only so much playstation and reading I can handle.

Silly comment.
I’m a runner (not a jogger) and I can honestly say I run in parks where there is plenty of space and where I can keep a safe distance from other people. I breathe, yes but I don’t cough and splutter as you suggest and nor do I see other runners doing this. And the vast majority of other runners are doing the same in keeping a safe distance from others and running alone.
The issues the police are having is with groups congregating in parks and doing activities which aren’t permitted at all and are not necessary, like having picnics or sunbathing. Those people often stay out a lot longer than joggers. 40 mins and I’m done.
Anyway if you are really that paranoid then just stay indoors

1.5 meters when running is not enough distance a Dutch study shows
https://dutchreview.com/news/1-5m-rule-of-no-use-if-youre-walking-running-or-biking-study-shows/
*Continued
"is there a new safe distance to keep from others as we do these activities? There is, but it’s not really possible to carry out in practice. If you have people walking the same direction in a line, the safe distance between them is 4-5m. If you’re running or gently biking, it should be 10m, and for fast biking, 20m. That is A LOT of space, and keeping to that distance is nigh on impossible in real life.
That’s even more the case if you want to overtake someone while you’re biking: you need to be 20m away from them horizontally as well. Maybe I’m inexperienced, but I have never seen a bike lane wider than 3m. So. This seems impossible to achieve. Another reason to stay home as much as possible."
Runners, bikers and joggers are oblivious selfish caaants
50 press ups and 50 sit ups a day. Might miss a day or 2 and increase the reps the next day. Bit of a jog round the block occasionally. Using the skipping rope. Did some weights yesterday.
Funny how I've been doing more exercise now than I was in the weeks leading up to the lockdown.
I ran at 5.30 this morning and encountered one man walking. You do come across more in the afternoon of course, but I keep a good distance when passing and going towards people.
