The NHS shouldn’t need fundraisers. It needs the £350,000,000 per week it was promised.

And you need putting down for the good of mankind..

It’s now at £12m. This geezer had a (socially distant) guard of honour while he did his walks this morning from the army while he did his walks

The old boy better watch out, at this rate, he’ll be signed back up and sent back out on the front line in Afghanistan
pictures prove they were not 2m away from the old fella.
His life is worth more than a photo op.
Capt Tom Moore finishes NHS fundraiser as it tops £13m https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-beds-bucks-herts-52303859
btw. He is an inspiration and a lovely positive sotry.
but it does go to show how a tag line and some medals connects and how the propaganda and rubbish work on us.
Theres 99 year olds dying in care homes and from corona and nobody really see it.
Same at the old fella singing on britain's got talent. Turn up in your civvies and you get a pat on head. turn up in a red Chelsea pensioner jacket and you win.
people are very good and the donations and much needed but if an old man with no medals and beret did it would it have made the news. I don't know.

Yep, it’s not his fault, it’s just the mentality of the British people AND the media / they honed in on the fact that he was a war veteran, he was 99 years old and his birthday was at the end of the month - it’s just a feel-good factor story
If he were 97 years old, lived in a council flat and was a miner all his life, the vast majority of the country (including the media) wouldn’t give a toss - he’d be lucky to have raised £100

true. If he was a miner someone would have coughed in his face. (someone wearing a blue tie most likely)
Its good that people are donating. I'm going to guess that the footballers fund for the NHS probabaly doesn't touch this number. but i'm just guessing.
Over £20M now
Absolute mental
has anyone found out how much the footballers fund has generated and compared to this.

Was it a general one, or club by club? Think most are doing things locally.
