Partick thistle is the team i follow in glasgow. I followed them home and away from 4 years old up to the age of 21 when i then focused more of my time and money on trips to anfield.
As someone with a vested interest in thistle i can honestly say if this decision was made and we had played the same games as queen of the south id have taken it on the chin. These are exceptional times and whilst i think the decision is rushed id have accepted it. I have no issue with celtic being awarded the title for example, they are 15 points ahead with 3 quarters of the season gone having. What i have huge issue with is the fact that we have been relegated with a game in hand on the team above us despite being only 2 points behind. Its farcical and totally unsurprising of the authorities up here who couldnt hit water if they fell out a boat.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I feel for you mate, totally unjust. I suspect this decision will ultimately be overturned.

Ok. Again some basic things wrong here. Partick are in the mix for league reorganisation which means they will likely stay up.
It can’t be overturned. The clubs all voted for it.
Just had a text exchange with a mate of mine whos a Partick fan and asked him why the team aren't taking it further like Hearts have said they will.
He said that they can handle the loss in revenue for a season and if they won their game in hand Q of the S will go down which would probably finish them off. All sounds very noble to me (if true).
He also said that he gets to tick off Cove and Dumbarton from his list of visited league grounds leaving just Edinburgh City to do. Which might be why he's not too upset about it.

Thistle have been honking this year and yes they might have caught up. Their form towards the premature end of their campaign was abysmal with no signs of letting up. The clubs were all desperate for the money for survival and when you draw it to a close there will be those who lose out.
I hope we get league reconstruction and they avoid the drop in all honesty but our football bar the OF just simply don’t have the money to survive uncertainty like this.

Maybe they've been told on the quiet that if they don't create they'll be looked after in the reorganisation.
Haven't Partick got more money than most teams playing at their level due to that guy who supported them who won millions on the lottery. I know he died recently but didn't he give some to the club?

They’re not the worst off by any means. That bloke gave them a significant sum with which they built a training centre but then he and his wife split up and I think that was the end of the hand outs.
They’ll be hoping for league reconstruction as are Hearts. The chairwoman of Hearts is heading up the group to seek reconstruction from which PT will benefit.
Make of that what you will
Scottish football is laughable
It sets a very dangerous precedent relegating clubs on a vote. Totally wrong, however it is dressed up. Would never be allowed in the English game in the 21st century. No wonder the Scottish leagues are seen as Mickey Mouse leagues. Certainly living up to their tag.

Agreed. It has eroded the standing and integrity of their league. Canceling a season would have the same effect. As Rick Parry and Roy Hodgson have said today, the leagues must finish when possible to safeguard the integrity of the competition.

So how would you finish a league off when your games are all called off, you have no income and you’re burning cash at a rate of knots when you can see you’ll go bust within a month or two?
Because if you know I suggest you put your knowledge to decent use and advise our lower leagues and maybe Belgium. I’m sure we’re all ears.

You’re not into community spirit are you sandy?
Nor some kind of football pyramid where young kids can start off.
I think I’d hold judgement on that stupid statement until you see how long this lasts with your lower leagues having no income and no help from anywhere.
What happened to your non league clubs again btw? Call it quits did they, or keep going until the inevitable?
How are all your insolvent trading clubs doing without their multi billionaire owners and huge tv and sponsorship money doing?
I mean it’s not like they’re cutting costs is it?
Fuxakes. You’ve started a stupid thread and lost the argument so now you’re resorting to the usual we’ve got more money that you lark.
There are times when I hope you can’t play for months on end, you null and void the season and then fans, sponsors and tv all ask for their money back. Let’s see how you all get on then.
They are few and far between but threads like this just remind me.

Cannot blame the pandemic on Scottish football finance, most lower league Scottish clubs barely get a couple of hundred through the turnstiles most weekends. This is what happens when you allow two teams to dominate for over 100 years. No competition, means very little interest.
Sorry i have some points here. You have mentioned thistles form was "honking". This point is quite frankly irrelevant. The fact is queen of the south have had 28 chances to stay up, thistle have had 27. This is an outrageous decision which is only being made because to the big wigs in scotland, a team like thistle are irrelevant.
Do you think for 1 second if this was rangers, 1 point behind celtic (or vice versa) we would even be entertaining this farce.
Thistle have lost 1 of their last 9 at home, their game in hand is against inverness, a team they have played twice this season and beaten twice. I honestly cant get my head around the fact this was allowed.
We may not be relegated if league reforms occur, but thats not the point, the point is the decision is completely unethical and unjust.
Put it this way, it will never in a million years be entertained down south with villa in a similar situation, even the english big wigs arent that scandalous.

Its farcical and totally unsurprising of the authorities up here who couldnt hit water if they fell out a boat.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I feel for you mate, totally unjust. I suspect this decision will ultimately be overturned.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok. Again some basic things wrong here. Partick are in the mix for league reorganisation which means they will likely stay up.
It can’t be overturned. The clubs all voted for it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course it can be turned over on appeal. Even convicted murderers get their sentences quashed from time to time.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe they've been told on the quiet that if they don't create they'll be looked after in the reorganisation.
Haven't Partick got more money than most teams playing at their level due to that guy who supported them who won millions on the lottery. I know he died recently but didn't he give some to the club?

Partick thistle is the team i follow in glasgow. I followed them home and away from 4 years old up to the age of 21 when i then focused more of my time and money on trips to anfield.
As someone with a vested interest in thistle i can honestly say if this decision was made and we had played the same games as queen of the south id have taken it on the chin. These are exceptional times and whilst i think the decision is rushed id have accepted it.

Not only spouting out with a thread which you’ve got completely wrong you’ve now turned back into a boring tw@t again.
Well done. Your league has a lot more money than ours.

Oh really?
So how would you finish a league off when your games are all called off, you have no income and you’re burning cash at a rate of knots when you can see you’ll go bust within a month or two?
Because if you know I suggest you put your knowledge to decent use and advise our lower leagues and maybe Belgium. I’m sure we’re all ears.
Honest to fwck, the total ignorance from some on here is astounding.

I only said that it has eroded the integrity of the competition. I have no idea whether it was the best move to make and I didn't say it was/wasn't.
On a purely factual basis, the integrity of the competition is eroded by a failure to complete it.

Undoubtedly but for the lower leagues and for some of them their very existence is at stake.
We have far too many clubs for our country and that is a large part of the issue

If your clubs have no money, then what is the point of them? They should just fold like any other business would.

As ever completely missing the point.
Started off with an inane thread
Challenged
Responded with utter guttershite and a distinct lack of knowledge.
Corrected
Changed tack and moved to the we’ve got more money argument
Challenged again
Missed the point completely
You’ve done well
