The Portugal 2004 side were average as hell.
And imo Spain 2008/2012 would win this 🤪
Those first two games would be right humdingers. Strangely I remember the 82 world cup really well but not Euro 84. Possibly because England were not in it.
I do remember Platini in 82 and 86 and he was something else. IMO, above Zidane.

But it is only Spain 2012, without David Villa and Torres out of form. Obviously a top class midfield, but that lack of striker costs them here.

Just missed a striker. Papin was in the 86 squad I think, but was a bit early for him.
Why not Spain 2008? They’d win it.

Are you accusing FIFA and UEFA of fixing this?

Spain 08 was the best Euros team I’ve seen.
I think France 2000 could have beaten them just due to the individual talents of Henry & Zidane, and Vieira wouldn’t let Xavi & Senna dominate like they did.
Just seems odd to leave out the best team to win the Euros.
Takes out the intrigue and Jeopardy of the tournament if you have the best team to win the Euros in it.

Dunno. He probably wouldn’t get close.
Fair enough. But then I find the omission of Greece insulting.

Also strange too have to teams in this fantasy tornament that did not even reach the finale.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You have to include england. The most underachieving national team in history. Bar none

Vieira was long, tall and rangy. Plus technically skilled.
The teams Spain played in 08 didn’t have any answer for Xavi & Senna but Vieira could have neutralised them.
you must be drunk of you think that england side in 96 would win a pen shoot out lol.
if the tournament had been held anywhere but england itd have been another disaster.

They did
Beat Spain and to be fair, Southgate apart, their pens in the semi were bloody good.

In terms of penalty shoot-outs, England scored 9 out of 10 in Euro 96, Netherlands scored 1 out of 4 at Euro 2000.
It’s weird to think that going into that Germany shoot out in 96 that England didn’t have that penalty loser mentality fear just yet
I was one win, one loss. As far as they were aware they might have gone on to be the best in the world at it

The Dutch have a habit of blowing it in tournaments, even more so than England when you consider some of the teams they’ve had.
Euro 2008 stands out in particular. They were the favourites going into the knock out stages having blown everyone away, then got shocked by Russia.
It’s a shame we didn’t get to see them and Spain play each other. That was the match everyone wanted to see.
Think England and Netherlands both have won 2 out of 8 ?
