G1 - Portugal defeat England - again. Probably on penalties.
G2 - Spain win, Netherlands probably end with 10 men.
G3 - France by a few.
G4 - A tough game, won by Vieri.
G5 - Spain too good for their neighbours
G6 - France have just enough.
G7 - Spain take it, but it is close.
G1 - England vs Portugal - England, although take out Kane, play Rooney up front and add Lampard to England team.
G2 - Spain vs Netherlands - Spain
G3 - Ireland vs France - lol
G4 - Germany vs Italy - Italy
Semis
G5- 1 v 2 England vs Spain - Spain I guess
G6 - 3 v 4 France vs Italy - France
Final - Spain vs France - Spain.
Germany of course, they have the knack
Spain to beat Germany in the final.
I very much doubt England would get past Gudjohnsen's boys
A six way battle, easy to remove England and Ireland but tough to call with the rest on their day.
Ok so per above TEAMS.
England: Midfield issues. all wanting to attack, no solidity. no pace either. rooney waddling about with shearer and kane looking for a ball in rather than being able to run in behind.
Fraince. huge pace. better team than actually won the world cup in 1998 or euros.
spain - you've squashed puyol in at RB so thats not going to work. solid team.
germany - very very strong
netherlands - not even CLOSE to their best team imo
italy - need to force in gattuso as enforcer there. very very strong.
portugal? pauleta?
Ireland
Pauleta is the best striker Portugal have had in the last 25 years.
Puyol actually played right back a lot, and was named best right back in the world by FIFA in 2002.
What should the Dutch team be?
Put Baggio in for Vieri and Italy wins.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
surely ronaldo fills that slot, why not silva or quaresma who played a lot for portugal or even nani (no seriously the only thing he ever did was play for portugal)
as for puyol at RB. ramos also played right back at the start of his career. you've left out salgado and carvajal. I'd debate puyol or ramos all day. one was not great but an organiser and a battler and the other is talented but a liability in terms of red cards
As for holland: 4231 mate. not squashing players into a 334 just to fit frank de boer in as he was half the bloody issue with the inter camp issues
van der saar = no issue
Reiziger is alwyas forgotten now but he was in this era.
You can have stam - bit slow good top player
You can keep van dijk in but its a bit rich given he's not made a tournament
von bronkhorst. very under rated player at lb
Seedorf is fine, seriously underrated in discussions as he moved around so much.
davids is debatable. he casued trouble. theres van bommell and de jong if you want a clogger
RVP - imo he was best off the elft for arsenal and not up top.
Bergkamp can never be left out BUT BUT, its close given his age but he fits in the 25 year criteria I couldn't leave him out
Robben - fits in as RW.
Kluivert - has to be in over RVP as central striker
you can keep sneijder and van der vaart. they can come if in someone wants to bin bergkamp.
I'd put RVN in over van persie as striker as well BTW. Left win = RVP. I thought at his best this was a good slot for him (like podolski for germany)

good point. When was he finished playing? 25 years ago = 1995.
Kante/Mak for Pog. France win.
Don't think Baggio played much for Italy from 96, and Vieri scored shedloads at the world cups in that time.

Me and Robb know.
Fair shout. I’d switch Ramos to right back and bring Capdevila in as they were their full backs in their dominant era, and go with Spain win then.
France v Netherland final
unfortunately France to win.
I thought I made it clear in the first post that ROI win?
So stop with all these other predictions please

So sorry Irish I plead temporary blindness.
ROI to win. To quote harry Kane, obviously.
I literally only put an Ireland team in because you always moan when I don't
Should have been Denmark.
Nah Croatia would have been good. 25 years covers all the teams they’ve ever had as well.
That France team is mental. I’d bring in Kante over Deschamps though, and Varane in over Blanc.
Ozil should be in the German team obviously.
For Spain, it should be Ramos and that Capdevilla kid at fullback, with Puyol at CB.
Portugal can’t be ruled out due to the CR7 factor.
Overall though, France have the best team on paper.
