It is going i guess. Food wise ours is the same, but we personally have had one Chic-Fil-A and that is it otherwise cooking at home. Keeping contact down to the absolute minimum.

Going to Ohio Sunday to see her mum for the week, she is 80+ and depressed naturally. We have been quarantined for a month now already so really shouldn't have picked it up. I am still dubious about going mind but she is insistent.

OK. Let's cheer up Mmum. Big hugs from everyone please.

Its Mom

Might get her to read this site, she wouldn't have a clue what is going on.

Good to see all's good over the water, and in any case all this will be over soon now that big Donny has cracked the solution. Who knew that the answer to this problem was sat right there in our kitchen cupboards all along. A good injection of disinfectant to the lungs and a dose of UV light down the tanning salon, genius.

Life's been pretty strange for me, son is locked down at his mum's and girlfriend similar 20 miles up the road so have been home alone for the last four weeks. Work's been ok, been able to carry on pretty much as normal from home. Been getting the cookbooks out and indulging in some culinary adventures....serves 4...stuff that I'm scoffing the lot

If anyone is really missing football, Jota is in the QF of the e-premier league tournament against Sheff Utd. He won 8-2 yesterday against Leicester. Live on BBC website kick off likely around 1500 UK time. They are basically playing the FIFA game with all teams set to 85.

Ha, not really for me tartan.

Was reading yesterday that UEFA apparently have a contingency plan whereby should leagues not be able to be completed, average points per game will be used to decide placings for UEFA competitions. Which would mean we would potentially lose out on a Europa slot as Sheffield United have played a game less.

Depending on the Man City appeal however, Europa could go down to 7th though so might be alright. More ifs, buts and maybes however than in the entire history of uncertainty.

Jota into the semi-finals with a 5-2 win, due to play Brighton or Burnley tomorrow. He is now viewed a one of the favourites to win the tournament.

Good to see a young man wasting his time after training playing computer games, rather than on gambling sites or developing a drink problem.

As you are probably aware the Spanish lock down is among the most strict worldwide. It started on Friday 13th March (!) so we are now in week 7. For the wife and I things are not so bad. We live right opposite a large supermarket so I don mask and gloves once a week to do the shopping. Other than that we don't go out of the front gate. We have a garden so the dogs can still get some exercise although the Breton has put on a couple of kilos! I am keeping busy catching up with jobs in the garden and on the house that are long overdue. I have lent my van to a local restaurant so that they can do home deliveries because I can't use it anyway. The only thing I am really missing is getting out in the boat so hoping for some relaxation of the rules soon. The biggest bonus for us I guess is being retired we have no debts, no mortgage, no rent, etc. Our income which comes from the UK each month, is a fixed, guaranteed amount until next March so we have no money worries.
I feel for all you guys who are struggling financially or who have small businesses and sincerely hope that things work out for you.

Ha, i wondered if they would do some kind of computer game tournament but never realised they actually had. Computer junkies having the last laugh during the lockdown.

Good luck Jota

Are you not allowed to drive anywhere Gem? What about the refuge close to home, is that off limits as well?

There are frequent police checks on roads going in and out of towns where every vehicle is stopped in both directions. You are allowed to drive if you have a specific reason. You must be carrying paperwork to back up that reason, ie. a letter from your employer, a hospital appointment, supermarket receipt, etc. You are not allowed to carry a passenger and on the spot fines are given to anyone breaking the rules.

Man that is strict Gem. We have no such set up here. Roads actually seem to be getting busier by the day now as well as i suspect people are starting to sneak businesses open on the quiet.

It's like that here on the island. Just one of the ferries running from Rothesay to Wemyss Bay, but you have to have good reason, and evidence, for your journeys.

Meanwhile here's 3 Little Birds (lock-down style)...

3 little birds. Brilliant! Beautiful morning so I was singing it in the queue outside Tesco today and wearing my Monty Python Always look on the bright side of life T-shirt. Got a few people smiling and even one young lady dancing. Need more of this attitude.

Been a strange side effect of being in lockdown for me in that I am in danger of getting pretty fit. Do a cycle ride every day and then an early evening walk. Also dropped on some admin work for the nhs that I can do from home. So this is life for the time being and is likely to become the new normal. Can’t see Molineux opening it’s doors to 30,000 people anytime in 2020, so just got to accept that life ain’t what it used to be

agree,
we'll get the games back fairly soon but it'll be pushing christmas before you see supporters at those games.
and must say i found it difficult to get into the olympiakos game in an empty stadium, more so than i thought it would be.

The Olympiakos game was a terrible watch I thought. Just can’t imagine an exciting game of football happening without the passion that comes from the fans and lifts the players
