Calm down sailor. I've read the thread.
We know who won the league in those years and since that's common knowledge I only wondered whether there was another point to your article which perhaps you forgot to mention, that's all.

Yeah, I got bored after week one. This is one of those situations where you think you'll die of doing nothing but somehow we still continue another day.
Six titles but you always get the feeling that Utd dominated the 90's more than the 00's. More competition in the 00's certainly. Even when Blackburn won the title, I still felt Utd were the better team. No Cantona for months didn't help!

Yeh true. The 90s were very exciting. End to end stuff.
Though as stated, the 00s had the best competition. Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool to a degree were fairly evenly matched.
We really should have won more in the 90s
91/92 - should have won that. Huge fixture pile up at the end cost us
94/95 - even without Cantona we should have done it. Just a shocker of a game from Andy Cole cost us the title at West Ham on the final day
97/98 - we blew an 11 point lead
Obviously those are all down to our own mistakes and we didn’t deserve the titles. But shows how close we were to 8 titles that decade rather than just the 5.

I think that’s because of the formation of the premier league. It separates it, despite three other league titles being won in the 90’s by other clubs, so the premier league dominance of that decade feels like the whole decade.
We also went three years without a title in the 00”s as well, so the break up makes it feel like it was a less dominant decade than it was.

Could easily make the case that Arsenal should've won the double in 98/99 though.
Instead... well, we didn't.

That would be a hard sell. United didn't lose a single game in any competition after mid December and Arsenal were never in a position to overtake them. United also had a goal wrongly disallowed in the first semi final game, before beating Arsenal with 10 men in the replay

Well we lost to Leeds on the penultimate day and went on to lose the title by 1 point so I think it’s fair to say we blew it
But the one that bothers me most was 02/03 when we should have walked the league but ended up throwing it away

Actual this.
Point being, anyone can make a claim as to how their team could've won this or that, had this or that gone their way.
United needed plenty of luck to win the treble. That's not to say they didn't deserve to. Just that without it, the history of the club would look a little bit different now.

Really good podcast last week by Arsenal Vision about the 07/08 season too, Bats. A lot of people forget how facking great that side was. But for Eduardo and RvP's injury, it would've been a very different story.
