If the question was best club then you could use the metric of what competition clubs have won.

I think its fairly obvious what should be decided what trophys make teams the most successful in the world. The leagues and competitions with the best players and hardest competition are the standard that most teams aspire too.Claiming to be the most successful team in the world having not won a European trophy is deluded and quite frankly laughable
