Ah, tech demos both a great way of saying, hey see what we can do and also we will never do this exact thing for you...

It is a fair point Mattyp. Tech demos are there to show off an engines capabilities, rendering scenes is one thing, building those scenes around game play another.

The only thing I will say is that the new Epic engine was showing real time game play, captured directly from a PS5. and it did highlight a lot of the advantages of utilising an SSD. not least of which, the end where she is flying through a crumbling world.

The SSD, particularly the one in the PS5 is a huge leap forward, and offers unique opportunities for developers, and we are going to see things that would be impossible without one.

I have mentioned how this demo shows off the PS5, especially how the end scene is a good demonstration of what the new SSD is bringing to the table.

Being able to stream assets at that speed is unheard of.

For an idea of what that means, this is the scene mocked up as if it were on an xbox. I'm sure it's exaggerated, but explains a little more of what the PS5 is doing.

I'm posting this guys reaction, not just because of how impressed he is, but because he has some sort of knowledge of using this stuff.

This is a real developer talking about the issues involved in development and his reaction to how what this engine is doing to solve them,

I found it interesting.
