The addition of Fernandes has put it up two, for me. I think if Pogba put in the effort, it could even go to second but he doesn't. Also Fred needs to improve further. I think fourth is about right.

I rate McTominay, I know many don't, he's not an exciting player but he's strong, good in the air, breaks up attacks, keeps the ball moving and most importantly, puts in the effort. Fernandes is quality.

Yeah...that's not how teams work. If you're taking a part of the team, ie. the midfield, then you're looking at how good the midfield are, not the individual players.

Liverpool's midfield is excellent as individually they're excellent at the things that make up a midfield that actually works in a team.

United have Pogba who doesn't try. Yes he's capable of producing special moments when the ball comes to him but that is not enough to get a functioning midfield.

Football is a team game. All over the pitch, Liverpool have players who work excellently as a team. The front three who work excellently together, the midfield, the defence. This is why some managers are better than others, they can actually build a functioning team and not a load of players thrown together for their individual abilities.

Disagree. Liverpool's midfield is excellent, hence we regularly control the possession against nearly every team we play. They're excellent and breaking down attacks, high energy for the press, excellent keeping possession. There's a lack of goal threat perhaps but they are not there for that, that's what the attack are for. Although if the shackles were unleashed on Wijnaldum, I reckon he could bag double figures every season easily.

So Liverpool's midfield just does the grunt work for their actually good players. Just backs up my point. It's like when Sir Alex used Cleverley Anderson and Carrick.

No. They do the things I said which makes it an excellent midfield. Scoring goals is just one part of football. Our front three take care of that. They wouldn't be able to do that without the midfield.

It's not an excellent midfield. Imagine what Xavi, Iniesta and Busquets would to do Wijnaldum Hendo and Fabinho. Although knowing you, you probably think Hendo is as good as Xavi and Iniesta were. You think Gerrard was ffs.

Tbh pogba doesn't even do the work so others can thrive. Every Liverpool player knows their job but I've no idea what Fred does but stink out Old Trafford.

Scottish lad for united has a job and does it well but pgba and Fred....not united quality. If pogba worked half as hard as any Liverpool mf he would be one of the best in the world, and united wouldn't be struggling to regain their former glory.

Well obviously. If you take one of the best midfields in history and put them up against this midfield, they might get taught a lesson, going up against them. However you only asked us to rank the PL midfields, which is what I've done.

Gerrard and Henderson are completely different levels. Gerrard was a world class player, Henderson is not. Completely different discussion.

No Jorginho or Kovacic for Chelsea ?

Arsenal would be more Xhaka, Ceballos, Ozil.
