Pretty difficult feat given we were founded in 2003 brum

Just don't mention it round the other boards, they'll never know!
I might be wrong but I think we were the first team to be invited to play in the european cup from England after we had won our first league title

Yes you were, the FA stepped in though and didn't allow participation.
History is what makes Big Teams.
'istory 'ector,... 115 years and we're steeped in it !
...but that night in Athens I remember it well, that Dempsey goal blew my mind ,and Ossies stunner, was pure heaven !
Thanks for this Brummie! Well remembered! Another anniversary of a great achievement in the long and many-splendoured history of a club with no history.
That was an amazing night, but I have fuzzy recollection - probably in the dark ages when I could only tune in to what was going on via radio commentary, and maybe with highlights on TV just before midnight.
Two very memorable goals - Ossie's, and Dempsey's hammer!
BlooMike, it was an inspirational night, they must have played the right music !

Yeah bloo, it's one of my favourite Chelsea occasions, I was 11 at the time and remember being allowed up to watch both games.
And John Dempsy's goal - you couldn't have picked a more unlikely candidate to have scored such a thunderbolt of a goal.

It was the season after we won the title in 55. The European Cup's inaugural was the following year but as Sandy said, we were not allowed to compete in it.
How knows - had we been allowed we could have been the 1st team ever to win the European Cup!
That was the cracker of two memorable occasions that year - the other one? I got married. Seemed like a good idea at the time.

But not such a good idea now!
No, actually! It went very well for two daughters and 35 yrs. No complaints at all. We're still friends, and that's all as it should be. I've beeen a very lucky boy, all told!
Anybody know if Bobby Smith was given a League Winners medal, because he only played I think four games of that 1954/55 title winning season, and I think you had to play a lot more games than that to get one, unlike today.
Hi Sandy, I have no idea but as you said he only played a handful of games that season and left for you in the December. Probably highly unlikely!

Afternoon Brummie, you OK? Two months for me without a pint. Tea can get a bit tiresome after a while
Yes I couldn`t find anywhere that gave Bobby Smith a winners medal. Probably right if you only play four games, unlike today, where you can come on for a sub for a couple of minutes, and be given a medal.
I'm fine thank you Sandy, hope you and your family are well.
Think you need to see some one about your drink problem though - preferably a licencee!
Brum, you're the kiddie for the historical articles on our board!!
