It's got a 30 mile Atlantic facing machair whitesand beach.

Causeway connections to Benbecula, N Uist & Eriskay.

2 airports within easy reach.


And my close cousin stays there.

Mainly because a local tried to knock us off our bikes there. I tried to track him down and was going to burn his house down for trying to run my brother over. Also not much to see. Flat and lots of pools of nothingness. Everything north and south of South Uist is nice to be fair.

What's the best island Barry?

Digby Island is the best

Not so good about that incident.

But the 'Flat and lots of pools of nothingness' is a roadview.

If you fly along the roads in S Uist you won't see much.

Same as Benbecula, N Uist, Lewis & Harris.


It's to be taken on foot especially the scenic Atlantic beaches.

Tiree is the best for beaches. White sands and green water all around. No one about either as it's over 4 hours on the ferry from the mainland. I went there when I was 18 and lived off the land for a week with my tent. Made a fire and cooked mussels. It was excellent. Have been back many times since. Harris is good but too many people. The isle of Eigg though! That takes some beating.
