I see. it must be Woods enigmatic persona not his average of 40 with the ball.Just ignore the world class bowler with 400 wickets.
Right 9 down now, just swing from the hips, you want to bowl at WI as much as possible before the clear skies tomorrow.

Yeah - clearly they thought extra pace would be helpful on a pitch that didn't look like it would assist a slower seamer. But Holder is closest to Broad, out of the Windies bowlers, and he's clearly finding the track OK to bowl on
whats sickening is the continuous bias selection. Ben Foakes never did a thing wrong when he played for England last. But Buttler is the go to man and that's it.

Foakes has been waaank for Surrey since he last played for England tbf. But yeah, he should be keeper.
I think they wanted Buttler in this one at least because he's one of the few senior guys with no Root.

yet it doenst take a brain box that with the conditions that they have had for 2 days, That there was bound to be seam movement. And broad is the master at using the conditions.
Seems to me they were thinking one way and that was to bowl quick at the west-indies. and that was it.. no second thought.
Bowling quick is fine, but that's not gonna take you wickets. a good line and length.

Waaaank batting, anyway. Still class with the gloves. Then again only Pope batted consistently well for Surrey last summer

Agreed
I don't often bother with county stats. Foakes may have been crap. But the wickets you play on in test cricket as usually more batter friendly. I just think he was treat like rubbish.

Also tbf to Buttler his batting improved towards the end of the ashes last year
Were there any series in between ? Sri Lanka ?
Shocking decision to bat on this, gonna play catch up from now on
Runs first on the board at least, getting close to if not 200 now. Should bowl them out for no more unless we bowl like twaaaats

He was awesome in 2018 and sheite in 2019
England just charitably gifted Holder his best ever bowling figures in the first innings here and his highest test score with the bat (by some margin) last year.

We batted to tea on day 2
Ridiculous they dropped Broad. Would be perfect in these conditions.

Yeah true
Bairstow was awesome in 2017 but been poor since
Shame really as I thought he’d kicked on
Bairstow has never been poor. Hes our best player. Criminal hes not in the squad tbh
He was poor in the ashes Phenom
The better Bairstow got at white ball cricket the worse he got in red ball. His technique is too open for tests, hence why he gets bowled so much.
He'd have been no use today.
