A draw would be okay, but a win is what we need and I think we'll get.Remember we are a thorn in their side and always seem to get a result against them.WTID.

I think if we have any realistic hopes of getting out of this division then we really must be winning games like this one, so I was offered a draw now then I wouldn't take it.

That said, if come 5pm Saturday we have drawn, then I'm not sure we should be too disheartened. Hartlepool will takes points off some of the better sides this season - we need to make sure we aren't one of them....

yeah, I think I would.

Although to then get the 7pts from 9 most seem to suggest we need, we'd have to win at the Sty! (aswell as beating Chesterfield at home)

Alternatively, if you look at our next 6 games, 2 at home which you would expect us to win on current form & then 4 away. Hartlepool/Sheff Utd which will be tough & Carlisle/Wycombe which should be easier then I think if we were to get 12pts from those we'd be happy!

I f Hudders can big the ones that can't be named 3-0 I think we'll do also.WTID.Remember they have only played one really good team and lost so don't let us get down hearted I think we can beat the pigs.

Oh yeah, of course we can beat them but we need to improve away from Hillsborough.

Hopefully, we have attacking players coming back just at the right time.

3 pts. against Hartlepool would certainly do a lot for confidence.

I agree, a load of teams have started well this season, we have to stamp some authority on this division; 3pts please!

Well I draw wouldnt be the end of the world but if we are to go up we need to go out and win every game not go to away games lookin for a draw like other teams sometimes do. Otherwise whats the point in playing if we are not goin all out to win

I think it goes without saying we'll be going out to win but if we only get a point it's not the end of the world.

I'm in Newcastle this weekend, it's very tempting to hop on a train & go to Hartlepool...although the tickets have sold out!

A win would be a great result. Hartlepool are unbeaten in 9, with 3 away wins already and only conceded 1 goal at home. However, we are beginning to pass, keep possession and create chances. Marshall and Lines were excellent against Exeter, and with Madine on fire, the back four gaining confidence, we have a great chance of 3 points. A win there will send shock waves through the division- we are back!

The crap Sheff Wed of the last 10 years would consider a point a decent return but if we have any hope of going up auto then we have to win on Saturday.

NO, I would not take a point on Saturday. I would be unhappy with anything less than a win and at least a two gaol margin at that.

Anything less than 3 points is totally unacceptable and I will not settle for anything less! I will be disgusted if we don't win and will probably snip up my season ticket if I had one, urinate on it and then bury it upside down at an old Indian burial ground.

You're so behind the times Izzy, the kids nowadays melt their season tickets! I remember the days when it used to be a swift jog across the pitch and throw the little plastic wallet in the manager's face.

But lets not get too over confident though, lets not forgetthat Hartlepool are unbeaten so far. If we play like we did last sat then we have a great chance of winning and letting teams know that we are inending to go up this season.

If we go with....

Bywater

Buxton
Jones
Batth
Bennett

Palmer
Semedo
Lines
Marshall

McGoldrick
Madine

We should be taking away three points and that to me looks like a good promotion chasing side I think. This game I think will define our season. Should we lose we may find ourselves battleing to get into play off's and if we win, I can see us being promotion contenders

C'MON WEDNESDAY!!!

Aspiring to win is not being over confident. We've beaten Hartlepool before - got to instill that winning mentality somehow. It's now or never.

Completely agree but there's a difference between aspiring/hoping to win and expecting to win & assuming anything less is the end of our promotion chances!

If it happened to be Charlton/Preston/Huddersfield that were sat 3rd & unbeaten then many folk wouldn't be saying the same things. Little old Hartlepool are there on merit & need to be shown the same respect.

posted on 27/9/11

Any club that has 'two little boys' as their anthem does not need to be shown any respect!

It is a marathon not a sprint .But at some point the teams that go up auto start to win week in week out pretty much regardless of who they are playing.

Look at poor Hudds. Unbeaten in all those matches but still not doing anything cos they draw too many.

Its not disrespect to Pool. The teams that go up auto have to expect to beat anyone other than the top 3-4. Which Pool won't be this season.

For me its not a case of expecting to win but rather a case of us expecting to go at them and play our game not theres. I think if we do that we will win. We have a good record there and we have the talent to overcome them. Team should be:

Bywater
Buxton Jones Batth Reda

JOC Lines Semedo Marshall

Madine McGoldrick

You can slam JOC all you want but at the end on the day he has been part of a team that won the last two games. If Megson is going to state that if the team perform and win games people will keep their place he should stick to that and JOC should be included.

Got to agree with CHupa.

I'd rather be a tortoise than a hare ( cue panpipes)

posted on 27/9/11

I agree with Chup to an extent but Hartlepool are 3rd now, unbeaten now & we're playing them now not at the end of the season when they might be 12th or whatever.

posted on 27/9/11

Do we like JOC now?

posted on 27/9/11

Of course not! He's just there to stop us booing the rest of the team!

posted on 27/9/11

Sorry, I can't keep track of who I'm supposed to boo and who I'm not!
