I don't consider Mourinho's 3rd season at Man Utd because it wasn't a full season and the players downed tools so it's not fair to judge him on that season.
For the first two seasons I give Mourinho a 9/10. I think to finish 2nd with that Man Utd team was a miracle considering a much stronger United team currently isn't even in the top 4. Also to win the Europa League with that team is still to this day the most success Man Utd have had after Sir Alex Ferguson retired.

I mean his trophy haul speaks for itself, but even if he had won nothing I would judge him on the football I’ve been watching over the past 3 years, and it’s largely been exceptional. A level or levels above what we produced under Mancini or Pellegrini

----------------------------------------------------------------------
What trophy haul? Lets ignore the domestic cups for a second. He's won 2/4 league titles and 0/3 Probably going to be 0/4 Champions leagues. That's 2/7 of the major trophies, probably 2/8 in 4 years. Considering how much Man City have invested into bringing Guardiola in to manage the team for years even before Guardiola came, he hasn't turned City into the dominant team in Europe like they would have hoped. he's failed even to turn City into the dominant team in England.
I just don't see it. I think he's struggled at City.
Like, If I'm City's owners and I'm bringing in Pep Guardiola, after what he's acheived in his career and the reputation he has, and I'm giving him all the money he wants to improve the team, I'm going to expect that he'll win ever league title and lose 1 league title max and I'm going to expect that he'll win minimum one champions league title and have the team in the CL semi final every. single. year.
He hasn't lived up to that.
*maybe lose 1 league title max
Struggled is a stretch, he’s done a good job overall. But the CL failures, and league campaigns in his first and current season, are fair criticisms.
Winning three league cups with City’s squad isn’t that impressive, and doesn’t invalidate those criticisms.
Struggled is a stretch, he’s done a good job overall.

struggled in comparison to expectations in 2016 when he was appointed.
In 2016 if you told me that Guardiola would win two league titles and no champions leagues, I would have said that he's dissapointed. The league titles were won in a very dominant way, and the Man City team he's built has been very good for two years, but on paper the achievements aren't as good as they could and should have been.
8/9
Two titles, 100 points, and a 98 plus cups a plenty.

I still think you’re stretching it. Especially as not winning the CL isn’t necessarily a big disappointment given the nature of the competition. But the manner in which they’ve been turned over in it certainly is.
Real winning 3 on the trot was an anomaly. Winning two on the trot is rare. When you think great managers like Ferguson won 2 in 26 years or so. You can’t judge the CL expecting to win it every season. Expecting him to have got to a final by now fair enough.

I think it is. I'm sure the number one reason for appointing him was to win the Champions League. His failure to do that and his failure to turn City into the dominant team in England is disappointing.
Mourinho has only won the CL twice in about 18-20 years as well.

I think your expectations are higher than City’s are, to be honest. I do think their CL failures will have been a disappointment, but not because they didn’t win it as you can’t really ‘expect’ that, even with a great team, but to not even get past the quarter finals and to be dumped out by Spurs and Monaco will be a disappointment I’m sure.

Why can't you expect it? You appoint one of the best managers in terms of his record in the competition, give him unlimited money and you can't be disappointed if in 3 attempts, probably 4, he can't win the trophy?
I think you're taking the opinion you have here to try and protect Sir Alex's record in the competition because if you were to agree, then you could easily then question why Sir Alex only won 2 CLs, and I think that would be a good question to ask. But there's no doubt at all that Guardiola was hired to win the CL and it's a dissapointment for those that appointed him and backed him with all the money he needed that he hasn;t done that.

Not sure what you're trying to prove here but they've won 3 CL/EC and about 12 pr 13 FA Cups. Liverpool have about 7 or 8, without Googling. However anybody would gladly swap 1 CL for 10 FA Cups. It's ten ffs.
