Should make no difference for city....

It'll make a great difference, the 14 day quarantine at airports will ravage United.

this was all expected when it became clear that no vaccine would be possible (ignoring trumps empty bluster) for a long while.

everyone might have a dose of this oxford one but the reality is irrespective of what the bluster there is it takes a lot to make 60million vaccines of something that might ot work. 60mil of any vaccine is a massive massive manufacturing infrastructure.

klopp has explained why if you add 310mil wages to -200mil revenue you get no money for anything but wages.

hes also laid out why we shouldn't be talking about partying just cos morons went to the beach or people.engaged in a rights protest.

the spike in active covid cases coming is going to be large we dont need to be adding our own to it.

Crowds are gathering on the beach, protests and pubs will be open soon. Only a matter of time when fans will be allowed back in phases.

Surely with all seater stadiums the 2m rule can be relatively easily respected. Maybe let 10k into a 60k stadium and everybody sits 3 seats apart?

Somethings got to be better than nothing.

How do you decide who gets tickets and who doesn’t? Supply outstrips demand in normal circumstances. It’s be chaos deciding who the 10,000 lucky people are

Rotation I guess but whatever you do some folk will be unhappy.

I've watched bits of the German stuff without a crowd and I can't get on with it at all. Maybe it'll be easier when the Prem begins and I've got some skin in the game, I hope so?

The bigger issue is 10k travelling to and from games.

I’m surprised this isn’t talked about more but also understand that football has to come back before we tart thinking about fans. Still, kinda surprised something like this hasn’t started to be looked at in Germany where the restart has been succesfulnso far.

As DJ said all the fans travelling to and from the stadium does technically create an issue (crowding public transport). I think there’s also an issue that when you place fans high up in the stands even when there’s empty seats it’ll be hard to regulate fans just moving closer to the pitch. Hungarian football tried this and had this issue.

But on the overall subject I actually think social distancing and even large crowds will be back before the calendar year is over.

surely at some point things will just have to return to normal, what if it hangs about for a decade?

the reality is the government will push as far as possible as fast as possible to take in tax and not pay people to stay home. based on testing system and tracing in the absence of a vaccine.

however it's also clear that events in the past 2 weeks in us and here and in some other areas will have an impact on infection rates. we will see before the football starts.

if we all bury our heads like the Brazilian and us president and stoke something up like brexit to distract the press people will forget about covid.

I can assure anyone if a 10% crowd was let in half of them would try to congregate together and ignore the distancing to make a singing group.

once you let in anyone you then need steward sand away crowds.

Eh? No way!

You think people will just jump up and down on their own and not gravitate toward one another? Won’t happen. Only those who have been tested continuously will be able to step into stadiums.

There’s no way they will allow any surfaces to become compromised.

mass gathering are a level 1 or level 2 activity.

pubs will be thrown open imo in late july but schools will come before football crowds. schools dictate ability to go to work for parents so the government want that asap.
