Ok

Name some black managers you'd;

1. Like to see in management
2. Think would do well in management

----------------------------------------------------------------------

The whole point is there aren't many and you need to ask yourself why that is.

One factor is the preference for European managers, as that's where the best come from. Obviously most Europeans are white, but this hasn't stopped Nuno getting hired by Wolves.

OP - with respect, you need to stop thinking about this as blatant racism and start thinking about the subtleties of the issue.

I don't think anyone is saying that a club would sack someone just because they're black.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The issue is whether many clubs would or could actually employ a black manager...let alone sack them

Where are these people...?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

That really isn't the issue.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
yes it is...there aren't any good black managers..unless you can list me five that are currently unemployed & could do a job in the top flight

lets say compare them to the likes of Bruce Pardew Hughes...etc

Not the level of Jose Pep Klopp...as that is a stretch

Saw a stat saying that black people make up 15% of the countries population, yet 40% of premier league players are black.

I think Man-city should go for a black or Asian manager next time. am sure Raheem will all be for that..
Seriously though, I do agree I think more black players should be given a chance at jobs.

That's not correct. It's about 4%, and the asian population is double that.

Try answering the question two people have asked you based on the OP....instead of sitting behind your own point...the relevance of which we've yet to establish

If you can’t understand the point I’ve made, which is absolutely relevant to the OP, then that really is your issue.

I’m not the only one making it and I’m not going to waste time trying to explain something that you clearly have no interest in actually listening to and learning from.

Have a nice evening.

We should be pushing heavily for gay and Asian coaches as well, we need exact equal numbers comparative to the population
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We need the best people in the best jobs simple as that irrespective

Pushing for black gay or Asian coaches or in any Walk of Life isn't the answer - that's box-ticking at best...it's the best people for the best jobs

Sticking to this stance means you stick to the current situation where stats show there is a misrepresentation. By looking to do something about it, we may actually find, that in future, there are the 'best people for the best jobs' coming from the underrepresented groups also.

I can understand why people think that way.

But there’s a simple journey to realising why it’s flawed.

If you accept that skin colour has no link to potential football management ability, and if you accept that the current ratio of black people in these roles is under represented, then you are left with the question as to why that is.

In some ways the answer is complex and the solutions can of course be debated, but market forces - leaving things to sort themselves out - is clearly not working, so anyone with half a brain, and no genuine prejudice, should stop and consider what solutions may work and what may not.

So...What would you do to let's say ensure a gay person got a fair shot at a prem managers job then...?

To be fair it took me years to get it as I had the same opinion for years when this topic came up.

For me the realisation came when I accepted that this can of course mean that sometimes the best person doesnt always get the chance but in the long run and for the greater good, this has the potential to create a much better balance.

The Rooney rule for example only means you have to interview, so the person still has to impress at that stage, meaning the chairman or whoever is hiring, has in fact hired the person they believe best for the job.

To skew the balance away from the current trajectory, at least initially, therefore forcing a better balance in the hope that in the long run, you don't have to force it but it becomes natural.

I do think we need to acknowledge that there has been progress made on this front. If we don’t, we spitting in the faces of all the people that have fought hard for equality.

Surely there are more black managers now than in the 60s/70s/80s and 90s?

As many have said it’s a long LONG process of change but it comes across sometimes that some people forget that and want instant change when that won’t be possible without putting restrictions and laws into place that end up causing more harm than good.

I think Winstons earlier plans along with Rooney will help continuing the balancing.
