Barnes had 8 losses at Celtic in 29 games. They barely lose 8 games in 290 games normally.

He’s right about the no evidence part

Barnes may have a point re lack of opportunities for black mangers but he was sacked for being useless.
At least he's kept his job on Harry's Hero's!

Different era.

He also mentioned how black managers are described as "black managers" and not as "managers". Its true.

He was rubbish at Celtic though it was his reign that brought us..

One problem is the lack of black ex-players moving into management. This is partly due to the feeling they won't get chances. So a bit of a vicious cycle.

There are lots of white managers who do well at lower levels who never get a chance at bigger clubs. It will be the same case for black managers.

His attitude does nothing for the case of black managers though ,does it ?

Absolutely, I heard, I think it was Sterling that made the point about Lampard and Gerrard getting top jobs right away but Sol Campbell gets scraps and has to prove himself.

Often see people point to the fact there is a large proportion of black players but low management. However that is a more recent event and if you consider the average age of a manager there would be significantly less black players in their playing days. I think it's a matter of time before we see notably more.

A lot of subtle racism in here

I have a feeling that Jennifer Aniston wants me, I have no evidence though.

Just a feeling.

I would sooner give Lampard and Gerrard a job over Campbell too. Not because of his race but because they sound a lot more intelligent than he does.

Dwight Yorke, another less than suitable candidate for personality reasons, is another who has voiced a belief it is his skin colour that is the issue.

Same with Scholes, who had to start at Oldham. Some people seem cut out to be managers and some don't. Obviously Lampard and Gerrard still need to prove it.

Lampard failed at Derby but got Chelsea job.
Gerrard is getting outdone by Neil Lennon in Scotland but is still regarded quite highly.

Yes had a great squad and some of the best loan players available

I think also that when you are job hunting, Charm and personality play a big part as to whether or not, you might get employment.
Just my experience !

A feeling of entitlement in an interview, generally has an adverse effect ,as opposed to a more humble pleasant manner .

Lampard took Derby to the play-off final in his first season. Hardly failure.

Still made it past Leeds and to the play-off final. Not really a failure.

Quite a difference in budgets.
He's worked wonders in Europe for us but tbh I didn't expect him to catch Celtic. His head to head record against lennon is good though.

Look at Patrick Vieira. Was highly rated working his way through City but then got shipped to the US and is now back in France. Not had the same opportunities as Gerrard, Lampard or Scholes in this country. Even Arteta gets the big job.
