Can see a winks and skipp CM with sissoko out wide but really hope sissoko isn’t in that position
I think fans will quickly lose patience with Ndombele if he plays tonight and puts in a poor performance. The fans that were still on his side anyway.
Ndombele still has next season for me no matter how he does this season. It took Dembele about 4 years to become the player he became. Hell it took Henderson about a decade to become this good.
Ndombele has been good just been lazy and not looked fit. Not for a lack of quality but a lack of desire for those who are slating him.

Dembele didn't cost £60 million though. We should expect a player to start producing the goods sooner for that sort of money and reputation.
Look at the impact Fernandes is having on Man United already.
Looking forward to what setup and tactics Jose is going to go for tonight.
Although I do fear we are in for a hiding unless we are on absolute top form and take our chances. Just feel Utd will be too much for us.

i was hoping Ndombele would be considerably better defensively but he doesnt look like he can do that side of the game at all. YouTube had him sliding in winning the ball all over the park and driving forward with it. Might sue them.

For me a price tag doesn’t justify a players worth or determine my patience with a player.
A price tag is just a made up sum of money that two parties agreed upon. Had Lyon been going bankrupt they would have more likely accepted £30m for Ndombele. With the absurd influx of cash in the modern game £60m now is the equivalent of a £30m player 8 years ago.
For me I’ve seen enough from Ndombele to suggest that he could become one of our best players. If he doesn’t perform in the oddest football circumstances in any of our lives that changes nothing. If at the end of the season, we are asking the same questions and have the same doubts then I think it’s fair to cast judgement.

He cost £16m which at the time was big money for us to spend.
Anyway I don’t like the he cost this amount we should expect thing.
I also think black players get typecast into having to be very athletic and a “beast”
People assumed because Ndombele was big black and had a similar name to Dembele he would be the exact same player.
Where in truth he a more cultured and creative that needs a “beast” type player to be alongside him
Ndombele, GLC and a beast has the potential to be one hell of a midfield for years to come
Ndombele so far has been both weirdly similar to Dembele and very different. Both are great dribblers and very press resistant. Dembele was so good at progressing the back and controlling the game but pretty poor in the final third. Ndombele has really struggled at controlling games but his end product is exceptional and his eye for a pass/throughball is ridiculous.

I think he has potential as well and we've seen that in places. There's no question he has come with expectation and a reputation, more of one than Dembele had when we bought him.
I'm not saying specifically me anyway, I believe many of our fans will soon lose patience with him if he doesn't bring the goods, for those reasons. Whether or not he is actually worth the price tag, this is ultimately what people will look to.
He's now had those extra months to train and settle in so this should have helped him.
