to clarify i never had a hatred for him before he joined spurs, but now he is at spurs i can see why people do hate him.

i used to think he was a great character for the game and his teams used to play attacking football. he seemed to flick a switch after his 2nd disaster season in his 2nd spell at Chelsea, to play defensive football and be a moany cant.

i did think when we got Mourinho, oh well there isnt many other managers out there we could have got and he could get the team playing better as a short term solution with better results. but the reality is we havent seen that big of an improvement.

the main thing for me with Mourinho is winning the club a trophy but i am yet to see any indication of that being a possibility for him with spurs.

If he does win you a trophy it will be a domestic cup I reckon. I cannot see him getting anywhere near the 2 big prizes in his time there.

If it is EL football for your boys next season (not saying it is), I would give you a decent chance of winning it.

I have no time for Jose myself but one thing he always does is take the cup competitions seriously.

the managers always get it in the neck when the team are not performing or getting the results. You did it with the last manager and it will be the same for Jose if things carry on this way.

I would say lets see after a transfer window where he can get his own players in but we are going to struggle doing business in the current environment and financial restraints.

Sandy you as an old pensioner who have seen more Spurs teams than anyone here should know that Mourinho is not a right fit for a club like yours.

Regardless of not winning a trophy Spurs always were known to be an entertaining team.

no, 100% agreed mate.

time had come and gone for the 2 big prizes being a possibility, we couldnt and didnt push on when we should have.

Have said all along best case scenario is Jose gets in some free agents who have won things in the past, we win a league or FA cup under him and he is gone months after that. Trophy would be great and its what we have to deliver with Jose for Levy to justify his decision. We are going to be unable to build for the future as i mentioned above, especially with a manager who isnt known for that and not many academy players being brought through(where none are instantly standing out at the moment as exciting prospects for the future).

Spurs are well known for being a club that doesn’t win trophies, certainly in my lifetime. It’s time to give Jose a chance and hope he can change that. I will be judging him properly next season.

Yes, Sandy would have seen some rotters managing this club over the last 9-10 decades.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not sure how far back Sandy goes, but I have followed Spurs since 1970, and know full well that you will always get people like Paul Merson regularly coming out with stuff that is simply designed to get a rise. I mean, Paul Merson, an ex drunk who loves the sound of his own voice, who will always have the petty mentality of attacking anything that is anti Arsenal. Really don't know why anyone bites in these situations. Why would Mourino even remotely feel the need to defend his record to the likes of Merson, who could'nt get through the day without a drink.

1950s mate. I used to sit next to Jimmy Anderson`s grandaughter at primary school, he was our manager before Billy Nicholson. I should have had a schoolboy crush on her, but I was more interested in getting autographs through her from her Grandad of all the Spurs players at the time. Good old days.

Finally, a sane opinion

When did we start judging managers who come in midway through a season with no summer window after a few months? Especially when that manager has improved the league position significantly of the team.

You leave Arsenal out of this. We've endured more pelters out of Merse than any other club over the years. I can hardly remember him ever saying anything positive about us as a pundit.

That's just who he is. Put him in front of a camera and he'll have a go at anyone and everyone.

I`ll judge Mourinho only when he has had time to implement his philosophy and use the squad he wants, only time will tell whether giving him the players to suit his systems will bear fruit.

Klopp for example it has taken him 5 years and the introduction of VAR to win a title with Varpool, albeit a severely tainted one.
