Any complaints?

I’ve been saying it on there for ages, Wahldude. Some don’t take too kindly to having it pointed out our manager is doing poorly. Some are like you with Mourinho.

Because really it’s not about gaps and point tally’s. If he was a good manager we would be much much higher up the table than we are. He’s done absolutely nothing more than steady the ship, as well as dropping out the CL and FA Cup.

On the day Mourinho was appointed, Tottenham had 14 points after 12 games. They have currently played 31 games and have 45 points. Had they kept going with the same form under the previous manager, they would have had ~ 36 points after 31 games. Which would place Tottenham currently 15th place in the league table.

So you currently under Mourinho are in 7th with 45 points.

With your form under the previous manager, you would have been, had you kept averaging the same number of points, currently be in 15th place with 36 points.

You'd be above Brighton at least i suppose. They have 33 points.

What more do you want from a manager joining midway through the season a team with no confidence? I think that's definitely good enough for season 1 considering the circumstances when he took over.

So he’s done slightly better than Poch and you’re getting annoyed because we’re not over the moon with it all

The gap between 14th and 7th when Jose took over was 2 points, and this is your entire argument.

I really don't understand what you're not getting about this. You'd be 15th place under the former manager right now if you hadn't fired him. You're in 7th with Mourinho instead now. Is that really only just "slightly better"?

Form isn’t linear, keeping Poch doesn’t mean they’d have carried on picking up points at the same rate they did in their first 12 games.

posted on 24/6/20

Maybe you should stop thinking about it as a comparison between Poch and Mourinho, then you might get it.

There's no reason to think they wouldn't have. But if you want to claim that, then I could say what if their form got worse?

But you said "So he’s done slightly better than Poch and you’re getting annoyed because we’re not over the moon with it all" so you did compare the two of them.

I think having Ndombele and Lo Celso back and playing more regularly would have helped Spurs under Poch and they’d have improved their form.

It’s possible their form would have suffered more, of course, but either way you’re arguing against a hypothetical form guide under Poch that isn’t provable, so it’s pointless.

Because all you’re doing is comparing Jose to Poch. But we still play terrible football with a negative manager who can’t organise a defence. You won’t change my mind about that.

What about the injuries to Kane and Heung Min Son that happened since the previous manager was fired?

He's improved the team in the short period he's been there and he has a long way he can improve the team. Why not, instead of moaning, support the manager and give him a bit more time before you decide he's not doing a good enough job. I don't understand since when did we judge managers after a few months especially when they join mid season and don't have a summer transfer window to sign players and work with the players. It's not fair at all.

What about them? That doesn’t excuse the terrible football and non-existent defence.

I don't know, but let's give him a chance at least before we start crying.

I respected Conte. I didn't like him, but I respected the job he did and gave him credit for what he achieved at Chelsea.
