has he even started 8 games?

he joined to play under an exciting attacking team with a postive manager and he's found himself with a moany cant of a dinosaur who is notorious for cutting off talented players who go on to be stars in the future.

Ndombele has had issues with annoying managers well before he joined Spurs.

Maybe, just maybe José is doing you guys a favour.

Oh yeah I forgot how much loser Poch got the best of him LOL. Do you remember last pre season when there reports Lard a$$ could not hack the training and got injured after he joined?

He frauded everyone(but me) by a couple of good minutes here and there but clearly does not have the work ethnic.

So you have Poch the "messier" who could not get the punter to play more than 90 mins and finally a proven winner who has seen through him. In the bin. Next!

The raw talent has always been there but the focus has not and it is remarkable to think that as recently as the 2015-16 season Ndombele was fighting for recognition in the Amiens reserve team in the Championnat National 3, which is French football’s fifth tier.

It had all gone wrong for him at Guingamp, where he was released as a 17-year-old in 2014 – the club did not offer him a professional contract amid concerns over his commitment. Was he prepared to make the necessary sacrifices?

Talk to anybody in France about Ndombele and one word recurs: nonchalance. It is not meant as a compliment and takes in the impression that he has not always been the most hard-working player. Perhaps it is because his talent is so big that everything comes easily to him.

“He was nonchalant,” Sullivan Martinet, his youth team captain at Guingamp, told Ouest France. “He was so strong that we were expecting more from him, more consistency. He didn’t try maybe as much. He didn’t give the impression of always being 100%. With hindsight, what harmed him was his behaviour off the pitch. We were less talented but we wanted it more than him.”

Ndombele had another problem at Guingamp – a propensity to be slightly overweight – and it was cited among the reasons for the refusal to give him a senior deal. “People told me he could put on weight,” said Philippe Le Maire, who was on the club’s youth staff. “To put it in simple terms – he built his bottom half before the top.”

——

I fully believe he has loads of talent and I understand why Spurs fans are so keen for it to work. But there is every chance that Jose is right on this one. There are plenty of talented players who do have the right attitude out there.

not saying he does have the work ethic, none of us know if he does because we are not there in training. I dont disagree that we should sell him now because him not getting any minutes every game is just a waste of time, like you say can get important funds for our defence and centre midfield.

no doubting for me he will be one of the best midfielders in Europe elsewhere though, we shall see. Maybe he is carrying a career defining knock which we dont know about.

there were reports from spurs journalists saying Jose was happy with Ndombele, how he was working etc. So i am under no illusions he is doing his standard thing of picking out one clearly talented player from the squad and trying to show some kind of message. i wouldnt mind if our midfield was actually good.

We can all see he has the talent, but im backing Jose with this one.
His attitude and fitness has been appalling and his performance away at Burnley was nothing short of disgraceful.

For 60 odd million i would like to think attitude and effort would be a given.

So why buy him? What we’re the scouts doing? Did nobody look at him before we signed him?

All seems so very Spursy and unnecessary.

Jose is too arrogant for his own good. You’re telling me ndombele wasn’t good enough to get some minutes from those two dire performances?

You have to earn his trust. He trusts Lamela, Winks and Stevie B hence why they came on.

was always rumours of attitude problems around him too. he too is more of an attacking CM and working hard isnt what hes known for. 90mill was being touted for him too

Still hoping we get Holberg. Our finances are shot. Last year of his contract. By all reports his attitude is spot on and he is captain of the Saints too.

Got stripped of his captaincy after making it clear that he wanted to find a future elsewhere, apparently.

I think it's interesting. Mourinho obviously has pedigree, though that is on a decline. If I was a spurs fan I'd rather have seen someone who's stock in the game is rising, like Nagelsmann at Leipzig. Maybe things would be different under a manager like that?
