D and E for me

yes, i was trying to pick one over the other and remain undecided at present
D and E not possible without the winning mentality brought about by B
B for me. Made Chelsea relevant.
Di Matteo easily.
AVB's Chelsea was the easiest Chelsea side to play against since before the Roman Era, and you were in disarray when RDM came in.
Not only did he do the maximum he could have done in the UCL & FA Cup, he even got Chelsea back into the mix for Top 4 that season.
Almost objectively, probably RDM. The only kinda caveat is that perhaps less of this success, in retrospect, was down to him?
And second to that I would consider Conte, I really don’t think he had any right with the squad he had to have us such a successful winning machine that season in the league
Conte 16/17 for me. If you talking about one season in absolute isolation where the manager was the sole, decisive difference it's a no brainer tbh.
In all the other cases you could argue other managers would've had a similar or greater effect on those players, no other manager at that time was winning the PL with Moses playing as a RWB.

why not someone here on the chelsea board create a chelsea match day ?
Oh my bad - see one way below....
not a whole lot of contribution though
Gotta be first season for me. Just couldn’t imagine us winning the league and just the whole reality of it happening was nothing short of a miracle to me (even if we did have the best team).
Tough to pick though

We are elsewhere!
I think Conte made a huge impact when he came to the Premier League and eventually stated playing 3-4-3 because it left a lot of the teams flatfooted on how to play against it.
I think on that basis and taking us from 10th to 1st in the space of a season, it has to be E.

It's in a seclude location!
I never bother with them personally. If I'm not at a match I've usually got it on TV somewhere and I find if I'm reading comments, typing and replying, then I'm not watching the match and missing what's happening!
I'd probably say Conte Biggish. I didn't see it coming at all. i thought we were a season or two away from challenging, so it came as quite a suprise!

I think this is a compelling argument for Conte
From a different perspective I'd say Frank.
Shorn of the clubs talisman and without being able to replace him, not to mention other positions that required strengthening, what he's achieved so far is remarkable in my book.
I would have been satisfied with a top half finnish, let alone the position we find ourselves in at the moment.
I personally think it's a great tribute to Neil Bath, Joe Edwards, Jody Morris and everyone else associated with the academy over the last ten years, because it's blood from there that's helped us to where we are!
BrummieBlue
I agree with that in the sense it's the reverse of this article. The best collaborative performance behind & including the manager is us right now
It's a shame people like Steve Holland and Adi Viveash ain't still with the club cos they played a part too.

Was no surprise to anyone who knew Antonio Conte's MO. I lived in Italy at the time and every Italian to a man made Chelsea overwhelming favorite's the moment his appointment became official. He's one of the best ever at immediate impact however his short fuse and rubbish transfer senses will prevent him from ever building a proper legacy like what Klopp is doing!
Chelsea witnessed the very best of Conte, but also the very worst.

Typically we don't use match threads
Ancelotti - the one that got away, Have heard that even Abramovic regrets the way he got shot of Wilkins and wrecked our season and the relationship with Carlo. I think he could have built a dynasty - he even had Malouda playing well. Classy man and great manager. Mourinho is all about Mourinho, and although I will always remember that first season of attacking football with Duff and Robben, the cost of Mourinho to the club has been great, both financially and in reputation.

I don't agree our reputation was damaged by Mourinho, quite the opposite, but he certainly cost us financially both with his severance pay offs and the sale of KDB and Salah
I don't think he helped the club's reputation one iota Biggish, with regard to our popularity with the media and neutral football fans.
He started as the rather lovable rouge but by 06/07 his demeanour was much darker and in my opinion ne became an embarrassment to the club.
His 2nd period, the 1st 6 months apart, the least said the better!

Really never cared about rival football fans, fact is because of him we became a team to be feared and our reputation was enhanced globally. That kept on long after he left, and only started to dissipate once his old guard left
