This does confirm we won’t be signing a midfielder this summer, an area highly stocked with average players. Considering he had a year left on his deal I think it’s a poor decision at this stage.

3 years is a bit much ain’t it? He was back to being shiiite not long ago. If we pick and choose his games he’s good for 30 a year maybe. Playing well at the moment, but 3 years? Not for me.

Maybe we’re reliant on Jose being in management still somewhere in a year or two to buy him from us.

I think Bruno, Pogba, Matic, Fred and McTominay is a decent five for three places, and hopefully we'll see more of Garner. Admittedly, in an ideal world we'd have a top DM and Matic would be cover. We'll see what happens.

A bit odd to offer him a three extension. 2 at the most with an option to add a further year included in the 2 years. So 1 really.

Anyways, he‘a currently playing well. Maybe we may go for another midfielder next season and look to move him on.
