Lindelof is a big reason for our inability to cope with set pieces.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He is a truly awful CB. You have to at least be able to win 50/50 headers. He isn’t.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Other than that final screw up he had a decent game.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He did, but heading is his big weakness
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It sure is
Not a great thing to put on a CV for a defender!
We need a quality CB to partner slab
We also need reliable FBs
Other than that final screw up he had a decent game.
.....
Decent ish. But his inability to win headers either results in a foul, this happened three times today or results in the opposition picking up the ball.
lindelof inside the box? why do you want the team playing passing triangles in/on the edge of the box?
or to ask it another way, why on earth wouldn't DDG just hoof it downfield?
----
Yes id rather pogba pass it 5yards than rather take on someone and get embarrassed
----------------------------------------------------------------------
ok, then why is ddg passing to pogba so he can pass back to lindelof, who has 2 or 3 southampton players within 10 yards of him? i get the whole playing from the back thing, but what possible purpose could that serve?
‐----
Go ask ole, fact is pogba had time he lost the ball and you want to blame someone else
We never do it the easy way do we? Such a shame being so close and not seeing it through.

It’s okay panning Fred and Mctominay but we were 2nd best for pretty much the whole of the 2nd half, Pogba was terrible, Bruno had an off night, AWB looked shot, Matic wasn’t great either
Sometimes you have to hold your hands up and give some credit to the opposition
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I didn’t think Matic or Bruno were that poor, but otherwise, this.
Soton played well and had better energy through the second half than us. After 75 mins we looked shot.
Ole waited 5 mins too long to make the first changes for me.

i've got no desire to blame anyone at all, though i see the usual pogba bashers are frothing at the mouth to blame it all on him.
but i see you have no actual answer to my question other than "ask ole", so i guess we're laying all the blame on the manager.
* when Fernandez and pogba are not in dominant form, there is nothing in the squad capable of taking up the necessary slack.
* no team can expect to produce consistent league performances with such a weak keeper
* no team can be expected to consistently outscore opponents - at this level - with a combination of journeyman forwards/wingers and defenders like lindelof
only time anyone said lindelof played well when he cut out a cross late, can anyone actually point to what he actually did really well today? This is not asking sarcastically but i didnt see a really good game as some are suggesting, was he dominant in the air? How many interceptions did he make?
Go ask ole, fact is pogba had time he lost the ball and you want to blame someone else

That one was on Pogba not Dave.
Bruno was off, Greenwood was off, Pogs was off
One of those days I guess.

Pogs was easily knocked off the ball on other occasions too. Not great.
Granted, he was involved in our goals but overall he disappointed.

You literally said i would blame de gea more than pogba for that, if you can't actually criticise a player for something rubbish instead of resorting to the standard your player bashing you lose credibility, anyone else blame anyone other than pogba for that 1st goal, just curious

Was that De Gea who passed to Pogba? I remember him doing those risky passes before. Pretty sure he hung fred out to dry
