Yeah I'm really not thrilled with most of the youth players we produce TBH, none of them ever have that star quality that others seem to have, and they're mostly midgets.

Take Billy Gilmour for example. 18 years old and looks far more ready for 1st team footbal than Skipp does who is 1 or 2 years older.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Skipp looked fine the two occasions.
In regards to heights, you can short players in the midfield and they can better than McTominay. Not about height, its about attitude.
Love this idea that we have a template for "small" midfielders
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agreed but we tend to put faith in these mini men and they rarely go on to be really good footballers. Just average ones. Just looked up Cirkin's height...5ft 11 which is decent and Tanganga is 6 ft too. Parrot is just under 6 ft. Taller players defo have an advantage in making it to the big time. At least Jose has recognised this. Fairplay to him for giving Skipp some minutes ahead of Ndombele on Sunday.
Gilmour is 5ft 7. 3. Every inch counts. LOL

For all this height talk, there is always someone like Tariq Lamptey at Brighton. 5ft 4 and better than KWP for example.

Talking of which, I think KWP has been bit of a revelation lately playing for Southampton.
Ok, he was at fault for Martial goal last night, but much better than Aurier anytime! (Ok, should give the guy a break thinking of what has just happened to him).
But KWP take a bow son!
KWP just needs to fill out and hit the gym. Didn't watch the Man City game but heard he was close to Danny Ings for MOTM.
Aurier is better than KWP. KWP has had years to bulk up in the gym and still looks malnourished.

Have you been to specsavers Edbo mate? I mean recenty?
Aurier was the only player I was screaming at during the NLD. That lazy chilled out header to clear the ball and pansy tackle against Xhaka is a typical thing he does in almost every game.
A liability. I know KWP needs bulking up but in his recent games, has come on in and made huge strides!
I'd rather him tbh.
Aurier is terrible, Edbo. Surely you can look past your obsession with physique to see KWP cannot be any worse than Aurier. He'd only be back up too(you need two right backs) but Aurier is our first choice christ alive thats worrying.
I don't have an obsession with physique, you seem to think I do because I said Foyth is lightweight and short for a CB.
Regardless of physique, both are poor but KWP is worse than Aurier.
If you don't play, you get more niggles when you do play the odd 20 mins here and there. It's precisely because Mourinho doesn't fancy him that he's picking these injuries up.
On FFP I think he's wrong. All FFP does is keep the status quo as it is. It's utterly useless. If it were to be properly implemented all clubs would have the same amount to spend each season. They don't. That means the big teams will always dominate the smaller ones. Unless a money man comes along and buys a Blackburn, a Chelsea, a City. It stops clubs dreaming.
KWP is just if aurier was better on the ball, worse at heading and less idiotic

FFP supposed to provide a fair framework within which clubs will be treated as equal and this entity would vet any transactions in the basis whether that purchase/sell is within what is deemed a fair valuation.
This supposed to bring purchases to enable all clubs to play fairly and not make one side able to spend trillions in a league so that club can totally dominate that league. The other side effect is that clubs that spent gazillions on players like City and Chelsea, destroy the local talent. Plenty of examples of that on both sides.
However, when it came to enforce this fairness theology, FFP has failed.
If there is nothing wrong with what City did, why fine them? That's because there is something wrong in what they did?
FFP has succumbed to an internal blackmailing of some sort from City and enabled City to get away scot free.

This is where I take issue with the arguments against FFP. Smaller clubs can and do still live the dream. Look at the likes of Leicester, Bournemouth, Burnley, and Sheffield United.
The primary aim was to stop clubs going bust under irresponsible owners who chase victory by spending beyond the club's means. The same can be achieved by good coaching and recruitment.
Admittedly the City ruling has made a joke of it, but really that demonstrated that UEFA dropped the ball on enforcing it, and the rich and powerful find ways to get away with doing what they like. Giving each club the same amount to spend would kill competition much faster than restricting clubs to spending what they earn.
But Uefa banned and fined them. Is it their fault CAS over turned the decision?
Yeah kinda. They waited too long to bring the case.
I mean, City have unlimited resources and hired a ridiculous legal team to find any loopholes they could, but yeah. UEFA dropped the ball.
