So, finishing above Arsenal and Europa League qualification are new Waterloo?

This is such familiar territory that if I'd spent ten or twelve years on the moon and only just come back, I'd think nothing had changed at Spurs in the interval.

I can understand why some of you are feeling rejuvenated.

Well for this season it is. Next season I expect a full on assault on every competition Spurs are involved in.

The manager will start to gradually turn around the losing mentality that has pervaded around Spurs for decades now.

Oh and also Spurs are not a chequebook club like three or four others in the Prem, that without the money, would probably not even be in the division.

Hi Sandy. I understand you wanting to put faith in the manager, but he's a nasty piece of work, a grade A cant who will turn on the club, players and/or fans the moment he needs to save face. He doesn't dig out his players in public for the good of the team. He never has the good of the team at heart. It's only ever about him. He's repeated this every time he's run into trouble, regardless of the club. And he's a complete hypocrite too. Some fans back him to the hilt so strongly that they end up having to defend his every word. It's as if they become infected with Mourinhovirus and turn into zombies. In extreme cases, they even follow him round from club to club. You don't want to be one of those, do you?

Yes, if things fall into place he might win something, but how much love do Spurs fans have for Juande Ramos?

I find it odd you've taken this stance, because I don't doubt you're Spurs through and through, but during my lifetime your club and fans have always cared about the actual football.

Should be an open game, and keep Vardy quite, and Spurs should win by a couple of goals hopefully.

Keep Vardy quite at his best 🐆
How many goals has he scored this season?
We do not need to win this game..... We just beat Man U next week and we qualify in the CL.

One thing I will give you about Mourinho though, is that he is capable of building good teams without needing too much money. In fact, when he's had too much of it at his disposal, he's tended to squander it.

His biggest successes were with Porto and Inter, neither of which had cash on tap.

Well you have pretty hit the nail on the head. Spurs fans always care about nice football. Well now we are desperate for trophies and some of us couldn’t give a s** how we get them. Trophies are a priority now, not just playing “beautiful football “

I liked Ramos, he was a winner. I care about the football of course like any fan, but let`s be fair, how many teams really play champagne football, not many Barca at their peak, City did, but they are now on the wane, and yesterday showed that just pass, pass, pass, don`t really get you anywhere, and that is why they probably will never win the CL. You need a bit more than just fancy dan footie.

Absolutely Don. All this nice footie bolllox, where as it got us. And let`s be fair, the last nine months of Pochettino the football was dreadful most of the time. Jose already has the team playing better, and more solid in my opinion. Not perfect by any means, but give him next season, and we will all see the change in the club hopefully.

Ok fair play and maybe you are right? But we do have him and he scares the $hit out of defenders and goal keepers.
PS who scores the most goals? A Liverpool, Man City, Chelsea player?

Definitely need to try and win today to make sure of a top 6 finish. I can see Wolves drop points to Chelsea but us playing away at Palace is no gimme either.

6 points from the last 2 games and I'd be confident of top 6, and if it isn't enough then we did what we could.

Sandy, Don, I get you, and I realise how easy it is to talk about this as a Madrid fan, but Mourinho was just too much for me to stomach. In his time here, he lashed out at his own players, the media, the refs, the Spanish FA, the national team, the league, UEFA, rival managers and, worst of all, life-long Madrid fans and the club itself. And the football at times, especially against Barcelona, was downright embarrassing. He just wasn't worth the baggage.

Zidane has had us playing some horribly dreary football this season en route to the Liga title, but it's much easier to forgive because the man is all about the club. He doesn't put you through the mill of having to listen to all the moaning, whinging, complaining and excuses, and the bitter attacks on all and sundry in the process.

I know and completely understand the reasons for Poch's dismissal, and it's easy to say from the outside, but I personally would've given him a season and a summer window to rebuild the mess. As a fan, I reckon I'd have felt more hurt about his umming and ahhing about his staying on or not before the CL final than the drop-off in results themselves. In the end, he did show loyalty though, and I think that despite repeatedly failing at the final hurdle, he too deserved a bit more loyalty from the club.

United will get the top 4, it is what the powers that be want, and is the best possible outcome for the money men.

Spurs should really be beating Leicester, if anything to keep the smile of Brenda`s face and those radioactive teeth hidden.

Sorry mate, Pochettino had five years to build Spurs up. Plenty of time. He was given more time than any other manager at a CL club. Most last barely two seasons if they do not deliver trophies. And he did oversee Spurs record signing, who has turned out to be a complete dud. So not true to say he wasn`t given money, he was given plenty, just didn`t spend it very wisely.

The great fallacy is that the game is first and last about winning. It’s nothing of the kind. The game is about glory. It is about doing things in style, with a flourish, about going out and beating the other lot, not waiting for them to die of boredom.

Mathematically two wins WILL g'tee 6th BUT ONLY IF Wolves don't win both their games. They win both and they get 6th. Everyone else cant catch us if we win both games.

Upside - win both and Arsenal cant catch us. In a dire season, that is worth something, right ?

Downside - If the Fa cup winners have already qualified for Europe ( which Chelsea and Utd have ) then the losers take the Europa spot. So Arsenal are g'teed Europe win or lose.

Final foot note...have now watch Arsenal get totally schooled for 180 minutes, play 10 men behind the ball, survive every defensive scare possible, and have the two best ( and highest scoring teams ) suddenly forget how to hit a barn door from 3 yards.

I am sure their fans will be gloating all over the place, but to me it seems these tactics require bucket loads of luck, and won't see them through the first 6 games of next season, much less the whole season. So good luck with this park two buses and rely on the god's for the considerable fortune that will be required.

I think we could get 4 points from our last 2 games and still finish 7th. Could also get 6th too, but we need to win both just to make sure.

The point is he made us into a CL club when we had no right to be one with our budget and squad depth compared to the other teams. He inherited some good players but also some misfits, and many improved massively under him such as Kane, Son, Walker, Rose, Dembele, Vertonghen. Also had to cope with the moving of a new stadium.

You really do underrate the job Poch did so much it's silly.

Is this why we never win fack all.

I love club legends liked Danny Blanchflower, but I`d take silverware over playing pretty football and winning jack shiete all day long. There is no glory without a trophy at the end of it.
