hes getting there now. 10 hundreds is an excellent return. If he can double that before he retires and takes 200 wickets. Then hes gone up in my estimation.
I just looked he has 156 test wickets. No reason why he cant get 300.. yes hes certainly on the up.
Great attacking and at all out assault.

Winning you over will probably go down as one of his best achievements
20 centuries and 300 wickets is a big ask. I think he'll more likely end up in the region of around 225-230 as he chips in with the odd and usually key wicket here and there rather than getting big hauls.
He could score the hundreds though. He scores as the situation demands and his move to 5 has meant he's had to bat time and he's managed 4 in his last 10-11 matches against 3 different teams. The games against Pakistan should be a really good test as they always have a good bowling unit who are as good at exploiting our bowling conditions as we are.

Couldn't agree more, that second innings knock when he opened to move the game along was brutal.
His bowling average doesn't do him justice in my opinion, and I mean that in a good way.
To average 30 when he's the 4th seamer who we only really turn to when we need a partnership breaking or to do some of the "donkey work" bowling is phenomenal.
Silly article trying to say well done to some person who been arrested for assault and then clear cheat in World Cup but always expect this from England fan haha haha
And u all know he was even born in new zealand so dont get too excited he not even englishmen
Best cricketer in the world currently. If he can keep up this consistency then he'll go down an all time great of the game.
As others have said, his stats don't even do him justice. He gets so many key wickets and runs when they really matter.
But his stats are starting to look seriously impressive.
Keep it up Stokesy
He's probably the best all rounder in world cricket at the moment.
His innings vs the Aussies was one of the best I've ever seen.

Yep, he does the hard yards but due to his skill and fitness he's still able to pick up crucial wickets in these periods. His marathon spell of bowling where he picked up 3 for 50 odd against Australia at Headingley was incredible. His 11 over spell with 57 bouncers was an unbelievable effort.
It's becoming the underrated part of his game in some ways because his batting has become so immense, it's easy to forget that he's a bloody good bowler too.

I did it mostly to wind you up
He will be bracketted alongside great allrounders of 80's like Imran, Botham & Hadlee or If he continues with his present form, can be as good as Sobers.
Sort of guy you need if you want to batter someone. Always looking to attack when they don’t expect it and beat them down.
Can't be bothered to check but Kallis is the benchmark for modern all rounders
Anyone be bothered to check if he will get close or beat Kallis figures

He is more similar to Sobers who was also very attacking batsman, was the first ever to hit six sixes in an over. Kallis was the best of his time but he was moderate in terms of attacking.
Kallis is one of the greatest batsman of all time, let alone all rounder. Just checked and of the over 10k runs club only Sanga averaged more than him.
He's criminally underrated.
Kallis is the greatest cricketer ive seen. Was an idol of mine growing up but i couldnt play cricket to save my life.
I think everyone rated his batting and fielding. Batting record is ridiculous, especially batting at number 4, while also being a criminally underrated bowler who could have easily walked into a side as a 3rd seamer. Almost 300 test wickets and a hat full of ODI ones too.
Legend.
Kallis was a solid bowler who took almost 300 wickets at just under 33. I don't think he bowled quite as much later in his career and became more of a specialist bat. As previously said, his run scoring was ridiculous. 13k runs at 55 with 45 centuries. The guy was a run machine and an exceptional test bat.
One interesting thing I read is that Stokes' runs and wickets tally is very close to Kallis' stats at this stage of their careers. Kallis then went on to play another 100 tests though so I'd be amazed, considering what he puts his body through every game, that he'd play another 100 tests.
I think Kallis was underrated probably due to ODIs where despite a decent average at like 45, his strike rate was 70 something and he was seen as a player who would just bat for his average. I think most see him as one of the best test batsmen of all time where strike rates aren't a problem.

They expect it, they just don't know what to do about it so give up and watch the fireworks happen.
Sobers is the best ever allrounder to play the game. Kallis was phenomenal and stats are enviable but Sobers was better.
Sobers could literally do everything. Bowled every type of delivery. Batted up and down the order.
In a way Kallis is the best point of comparison for Stokesy, since they're both called "all-rounders" although the weighting for each is probably 70/30 in favour of batting, whereas for Flintoff or Botham it was the reverse.
Stokes will easily get 10 more test hundreds. Easily. So Liverpoolwhoelse should end up happy.
