"I love how people use the term 'semantics' when what they REALLY should be using is "I mis-read or mis-interpreted that'"--- - --
But you're the only person who seems to be mis-reading this. The rest of us agree that he made a balls of it as do the people who commented on his page......if he did mean to do it *your way* then you have to ask yourself....WHY then did he even bother??

"saying that celtic will never get 9 in a row is like saying to a guy he'll never lose his virginity after he's just sha gged your sister."

Dados... you really, REALLY need to work on your similies mate.

I ask you the same question... show me an example of when 'will' refers to past tense and I'll concede that the wee fella was wrong.

"show me an example of when 'will' refers to past tense and I'll concede that the wee fella was wrong." -_-------- I dont have to. Its simple really...the guy didnt know about Celtics 9 titles hence why he said never will. As I said before...for it to have made any sense,,, he should have added AGAIN. Do you genuinely think he meant it the way you're claiming he did?

Ishmael

Do you wonder why NO ONE else agrees with you whether they be Celtic fans, Rangers fans or fans of other teams?

Are you really that arrogant to believe you are right and the rest of us are wrong?

"I dont have to.

Its simple really...the guy didnt know about Celtics 9 titles hence why he said never will.

That is how you have INTERPRETED it.

As I said before...for it to have made any sense,,, he should have added AGAIN.

You serious????

Do you genuinely think he meant it the way you're claiming he did?"

Yes. I read what I see. YOU are interpreting it. YOU are putting YOUR lack of understanding of the English language on to this wee fella.

It really is that simple.

Yes"

I think it might be your facebook page.

Harry - "Do you wonder why NO ONE else agrees with you whether they be Celtic fans, Rangers fans or fans of other teams?

No.. I don't wonder. I know what the boy wrote. I am not interpreting it. I am reading it with a knowledge of English.

Are you really that arrogant to believe you are right and the rest of us are wrong?"

Arrogant??? Because I understand English???

I am right for one reason only... I am reading what the boy wrote. YOU and those others you mention are INTERPRETING what the boy wrote.

Seriously, stop it. It's just embarrassing. I've been polite up to now but I'm not going take English lessons from someone who can't even spell simile.

"someone who connects my club on a public forum like facebook, in the current climate with a sectarian collective noun for celtic/their fans is a toolbag.

deserves to be ridiculed"

Absolutely Dados. But let them be ridiculed for THAT reason. Not some 'projected' reason.

The emphasis of the sentence is on the word 'never' not 'will'.

"they will never get 9 in a row" implies that they never have.

"they will never get 9 in a row AGAIN" is what you're implying he means.

Pishy even your fellow Bears know you are incapable of rational thought you stupid c@@nt.

"'m not going take English lessons from someone who can't even spell simile."

It was 'similes' that was spelled wrongly, not 'simile'.

Oh... and the name's 'Ishmael', not 'Ismael'.

""they will never get 9 in a row" implies that they never have. "

Does it? Does it really??

Pffft

Then why did he not write 'They have never won 9 in a row', if that is what YOU say he MEANT to write?

posted on 11/6/11

Call__Me__Ishmael (U3406).. I think you're just wrong on this one. Theres no point to the facebook page the way you say he intended. If we handt won 9 in a row then it would work as a wind up *I get that*...but in your reading of it...it fails to do anything at all which is why its more than reasonable to say that the guy just got it totally wrong.

Vic.. "Theres no point to the facebook page the way you say he intended."

THAT is exactly what my first comment on this thread was about. I stated I failed to see why you.. or anybody else, found it funny. Perhaps if I had INTERPRETED it the same way as a Dhimm, I would see the point of the ridicule. I read what I see... not what I THINK I see. Try going into a court of law and stating your interpretation is right.

Anyhoos... I'm fer the aff. 17.50pm and no a wean washed!
