I was gunna say Turnbull but I remember him having a decent game against us while at Boro, a game where he conceded 5 goals
Didn't the club re-promote Lollichon last summer?
Tommy Hughes was even worse but fortunately with the Cat in between the sticks we didn't get to see him concede 5 too often.
Which goals do you believe Kepa was culpable for tonight?
We were sold a dud instead of real Kepa !!

Which goals do you believe Kepa was culpable for tonight?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
2nd and 5th comes straight in my mind
My concerns with Kepa began last season. I noticed he didn't come off his line nor commanded his 6 yard box. The last free kick Liverpool had tonight that went right across the six yard box is a prime example. TAA free kick was excellent. Central position made it difficult
to read who was taking but maybe he should've gambled on TAA and started further to his left. The last goal I think was a difficult one. I put a lot more blame of defence and Alonso for not tracking his man. A back post cross that was shot from 8 yards is a difficult save. To be clear I don't rate him but I would put a lot more responsibility on the defence for those goals. Giroud clearing the corner was terrible as was William losing the ball for the first. It's going to take more than a new keeper to stop the goals going in but Kepa needs to be sold.
More than any of the goals he conceded, the one for me that concerned me the most was the one that didn't actually result in a goal. A cross came deep into the 6 yard area and he was velcro'd to the line (as usual) and refused to come for it and the Liverpool player at the far post put it on the top of the net. Without the crowd noise you can clearly hear several of the Chelsea players (possibly as many as 7 of them) shouting for him to come and claim it and he just bottled doing it as usual. He then tried to blame Jorginho for not cutting it out.
I want Willy to play the rest of our games for this season and then get rid of Kepa at the end of it. Anybody can make mistakes, but I feel quite comfy with him in goal compared to Kepa.
I still prefer him to Tibo because he isn't a tw@t
69 same comment as me just a minute apart. That sort of indecision or non committal to crosses is what set my alarm bells ringing. The goals conceded tonight were not clangers similar to DeGea at Wembley he may have done a bit better but that cross not being dealt with was unforgivable.

Amen to that.
Agree Bov. I would even take DeGea over him (as bad as he currently is) because even though he is making clangers, he is still making decent saves at times also and even more importantly the sort of problem that you described with Kepa is a fundamental one, that isn't clearly detectable with DeGea. With our current set up if we concede a corner, it's like conceding a penalty!! Almost guaranteed to be a goal as the opposition managers are not slow to crowd Kepa, knowing he doesn't command anything.

Well the second for a start. After Mane dived like a Salmon on heat going over a waterfall, that goal would not have existed if it were not for, yet again, a blind ref at a Liverpool game. Don't particularly like Chelsea, but have to feel sorry for you joining the long list of conned teams vs that lot.
Hilario just reminds me of train guy now.

DeGea astounds me in how good and bad he can be...
It must just be concentration levels with him
The trouble with Kepa now is that it's probably gone too far & his confidence is shot
Not helping having any variation of the fackin chuckle brothers in front of him either....I cannot believe how collectively poor our defence is
Who sanctioned his signing? 70m+ for a guy who would be lucky to make the top 10 keepers in the league.

Morata I could see...& he started like a train
As for the other two...one has to wonder
I was very interested when Chelsea bought Kepa because in Spain, his talent has always been seen as flawed. Yet Chelsea spent a lot of money on him.
First of all, when Chelsea bought him, people were talking about his distribution, but he came from one of the most direct teams in La Liga, Athletic Club.
Then, something he has always been accused of here is having his weight behind him - when he sets himself, he is leaning forward as a starting position, leaving him a little less time to react and a little off balance.
Another criticism, apart from the start position is his hand position which means he gets little force on the ball with his hands.
A good goalkeeper dominates and makes himself bigger, but whenever I saw him play in La Liga, Kepa did not show dominance.

Never goes well when we try to get cute in the market. The potential squad we might've had now if we weren't tryna be cleverd!cks in that 17-18 window.
Alex Sandro... instead of Emerson
Van Dijk (part ex with Christensen)
Fabinho... instead of Bakayoko
The Ox or Traore... instead of Zappacosta
Lukaku... instead of Morata
Mad ain't it
I think his absence from the Wolves game means that Frank will be not keen to pick him again. Look at the Liverpool goals, he fails to move on 4 of these! Kepa has been a terrible purchase, many better keepers in DIv 1 & 2. Like Will Norris on loan at Ipswich from Wolves. Young and English. I am ^0 we used to laugh at foreign keepers........
