Brilliant first season for Frank i think mate.

CL football next season and an FA cup win, thats great going.

Looks as though will only get better with the young players and talented signings already being made.

Couple of defenders away from a title shot i reckon, unless some of your current ones improve drastically.

Great first season. Done a lot of what I expected him too & even a few things I wanted Sarri to do, been very productive, can't complain.

This season was never about the achievements for me, it was about the process. Top 4 (if we get it) is slightly misleading, I bet if you took a random survey of predicted points tallies at the start of the season it would've been between 60-65 pts, it'll be a welcome bonus on top of hitting around about par. What's important (IMO) is he's succeed in other areas quicker than Sarri did, he's got the young players & himself (as a tactician) first team ready going into season 2 where Sarri couldn't get his football to work how he wanted. He's achieved the objective I set for him personally, if we get beaten by Wolves & finish 5th it won't change that in the slightest

Look back at the predictions of where we would finish this season and i can't remember a single person saying top 4.

you mean on here, or in the real world? because if you mean the latter that is slightly overegging it.

right, whereas if you'd posted your article on the guardian it would have referred to their pre-season predictions?

anyway, there were plenty of pundits who had you down for top 4, not sure where this "plucky little underdogs chelsea" idea has come from.

I came across very few people (fans, journalists, pundits, influencers, etc...) who had us top 4 at the start of the season. Pool, City, Spurs were everyone's top 3, most had Arsenal 4th because of their transfers, with novice managers Solskjaer & Lampard battling out 5th & 6th.

Echo Randomer tbh, dunno what you're talking about.

Yeah, you can't really moan. Great 1st season from Lampard, people need to remember he's still learning and will make plenty mistakes. Ist trophy very important but I think he'll be a success whatever happens this season.

He'll be under alot of pressure next season if Chelsea go wild in the transfer market as predicted. You should sign that Madrid flop, what's his name? Warning or Hazard or suttin

Why wouldn't people forecast Chelsea as top four? Specially in the light of what was happening at Spurs?
Spurs have not been out of top 4 for a very long time.

Also, Chelsea for having a noob manager, have got a squad that's like who's who in the top list of European players.

Maybe, without those players Chelsea would struggle.

I'd be cautious about that one

No one expected Tottenham to struggle so much under Pockets and no one expected United to be so inconsistent. That's why no one predicted top 4.

Given those 2 teams struggled so much, expectations are revised and Chelsea really should make top 4 this season. We were in a great position to do so after the first 1/3 of the season and didn't consolidate our position and let United catch up to and eventually overtake us.

Don’t talk rubbish,
Pundits and guardian editors don’t read this forum I take it so the article is obviously in reference to what Chelsea fans on this board predicted. Not sure why you had to chime in at all.

yeah, heaven knows why i took the word "person" and didn't realise that it meant "ja606 chelsea fans only". if you learn to write better english you'll find people aren't quite so quick to pick you up on talking bo!!ocks.

and if no one on here really did predict top 4 for chelsea this season, that's bizarre, because plenty of pundits/journalists/bookies did.

I agree Nick, it 's been a very solid season, even if it has been a rollercoaster.

I can't wait to see how our new guys manage to settle in.

Again this coming season might be another rollercoaster ,but it will surely be entertaining !

Just so long as we can sort out our defensive problems, which I'm sure Frank is working on.
