I am also really looking forward to next season too.
If I am honest, the only way we will really be able to compete at the highest level will be to become rock solid at the back and grind out results.
If Jose can get us into that groove then I will be delighted.
good article mate
if we can sort out the midfield and full backs the first XI is top 4 quality, just will depend on who the other teams do
A consistent and honest use of VAR would see us earn more points and some of our rivals less points. Shame the chances of that happening are next to zero.
I was with you until ‘Jose will be backed’
He won’t. At least not properly. Not at this club.
Why wasn’t CL winnable? We were 90 minutes away from winning it just over 12 months ago.
We have regressed massively whilst others have progressed hugely.
We are back where we were ten years ago for me.
Scraped Europa. Won’t get the players required to win things as they will all want champs league
Europa will disrupt domestic season so we won’t qualify for CL
Does no one remember how many years it took us to qualify for CL?
I can’t see us back in it for 5 years at least.
Liverpool Man City Man U Chelsea all ahead of us
All those clubs have/will strengthen further, getting players we should of purchased last summer
Then you have the woolwich, wolves, everton even maybe Newcastle all sniffing around.
I think most fans are underestimating the damage our transfer policy has done in the last few years.
We need five top quality players at least to challenge.
Anything else will simply see us come up short again, regardless of who is the manager
I'm interested more than excited to see how Spurs handle this summer and whether Jose can back up all the talk for next season after having time with the players and to get some of his own players in
I'm afraid Levy's ambition to build the "brand" rather than the football team has dulled my love for all things Spurs.
The summer will tell you everything about Spurs. It looks like United, Chelsea & City will all spend while Liverpool don't really need to.
I fear we are just going back to being "also rans". I can see a fit and fired up Kane having monster year in a pretty average team.... It'll be his farewell gift..... another golden boot for him will be the only thing we "win"

Although it wasn`t a great season. I still personally enjoyed it, as I always do, no matter where Spurs finished, after all these years I still get a buzz when Spurs play.
So no matter the results I will still continue to back the club, come what may.
Sandy - yeah ok there were some enjoyable moments, maybe I’m being too harsh. But if you had to rank the last five or six years in terms of enjoyment, this would be at the bottom of the list!
Smeg - yes we were 90 mins away. But if we’d scraped in to the CL for next year, would you be confident that we could get to the final again? Europa is our level right now. For me we could be in with a chance of winning it and I absolutely could not say that for the CL.
This was probably the least enjoyable season since 2014

Some of our supporters amaze me Don. I give honest answers, and I get accused of Wumming, very strange.
When people say Levy Must Back Jose, then what do they mean? Is it sums of money, is it certain players, and if so who and what sort of spending level = manager has been backed?
So for example, would you consider NDombele £54m, Sessegnon £25m Bergwijn £25m LoCelso £40m as backing the manager = Nearly £150m.
With 20:20 hindsight we can all sit here and say i'd prefer Fernandes to GLC etc, but with the Stadium on stream and with some profits in the bank, you cannot say that Levy has not put some serious money back into the squad.

Chelsea never brought any players in last season Ted, and have reached Top Four and a Cup Final, and are still in the CL.
You don`t have to spend billions every season to progress, although money helps.
Bottom line is Spurs had a shocking finish to the last season in the Prem, and just carried on to this season. Cannot blame Levy for that. It was purely down to the players and the manager of the time.

The lack of signings that summer, preceded and followed by nothing in the Jan windows certainly contributed our rotten form in 2019, BUT you also have to look at Poch in this. If he considers himself to be the real deal then he HAS TO insist on buys. Reportedly he refused some players, preferring to wait for his chosen targets. Levy is a tight-fisted guy we all know but it takes a strong personality to make sure we get players in. Rest assured, Jose will get what he wants (within reason). It may not be the sort of player we want but he would not sit by and watch us buy no one all summer.
OP how long have you been a Spurs fan? This season might be 'dreadful' if you are comparing to the last few years. Go back a bit further and we've seen plenty worse.
We finished above Arsenal. And of the clubs above us, all have more money than us bar Leicester. Factor in the injuries to key players, and Poch burnout and we've done well.
Footy wasn't pretty for the most part, but there are signs we've laid some foundations that will reap dividends next year.
