I've eaten out once and all they took was a number and name when I booked. Nothing when I got there.

In Wales you're only supposed to share a table in a pub with members of your household and members of the household you've bubbled up with. However, judging bu the 'nice to go for a drink with this one' social media posts I've seen not many are complying with social distancing. That's on the individual though rather than the business although it's pretty obvious a gang of eight girls/boys don't live together!

Hope you and your better half are doing lush, mate.

Forgive my Gav n Stacey Welsh.

We're good thanks. We are as far away from Barry as we can be in Wales though where we live!

Take care and stay safe.

I went to a pub in England recently and it was a very unpleasant experience, because it had English people in it. No offence. Unless you're English.

Are you self-isolating now, Barry?

I’ve not followed this closely, but does this scheme not ask very kindly for serious infringements of the Data Protection Act?

Or did the govt apply some form of waiver through emergency legislation?

The COVIDsafe app is going live here next week. Same kind of model as they have up and running in Germany and Ireland already. Baffling that the UK govt can’t get a track and trace app up and running.

went to 2 last friday, one did ask for details the other one didn't, however they didn't ask for ID to verify the details, i gave genuine details but i could of given anything so it's kind of a catch 22 as a lot of people they ask will give fake details so then they'll have an impossible job contacting people

also how the fack in a pub can you work out who's been in contact with who? E.g. in the one they asked for details there was literally nobody in there when we was there, so do they write the time down when you leave so they know you couldn't of come into contact with anyone?

whole thing just has so many issues from every viewpoint

also what time frame do you give it? if someone went to a pub on saturday and got symptoms on wednesday do you then assume everyone in the pub on the satuday has been in contact with them and contact them? or is it too late would saturday have been ok / not infectious?

They still don't know exact dates of when you're infectious or how long it takes for symptoms to come on IF you even get symptoms

e.g.

person A is asymptomatic unwittingly spreads it into pub

Person B has symptoms
Person B gets test and tests positive

They then contact everyone Person B come into contact with and all his contacts but how far back date-wise do they go?

But Person A could of also been the original spreader so you'd need to trace all of their contact details as well but you don't know who person A is it could be any of the people Person B came into contact with so you'd then have to contact all their contacts

It's such a cluster fack

All of this is why an app is required.

The German/Irish/Portuguese system is basically all fully automated. All you have to do is enter a code in your phone when you test positive, and the app does the rest.

'A suburb in Greater Manchester'

What the fek does that tell anyone?

Easy way to stay safe - just avoid person A and person B. The other 24 are a safer option.

This is our second week back open and pretty on it, hand sanitisers dotted about, all table service, masks encouraged when not seated etc. Most folk follow the advice no problem but you can’t force people to. I would say 90% of people going out at the moment don’t give a monkeys, and nothing has changed since Greater Manchester’s latest restrictions.

Went out eating for the very first time last night...the bar we went in was fine...pretty empty & one part of the bar was in use with a screen

The restauant however, for my money was too overcrowded & some tables were never 2m apart...no tracing details taken whatsoever

Actually out again tonight...local pub for eats...we'll see what that has in place

In saying this...my Mrs paid via her phone, so they'll have our details anyway

Was out for a meal In Buxton on Monday whilst on holiday. Took name and contact details when we booked. Social distancing was mainly well observed (you always get the odd dckhëad that has no idea what 2m is).
Actually out again for lunch today near where I live. We’ll see how that goes.

They probably do know, but the advice is 1m now.

Ah yes, in England. However they had big posters on the wall advising the customers to keep 2m apart.

I think most places had already bought signage when it was still at 2m

The nearest toruist town to me, Llandudno, according to what I've seen is just about adhering to the regulations. I've not been into a pub though (only a restaurant) but they were only allowed to open indoors last week.

It's still 2m here in Wales but they are keeping to that on the beaches around me to be fair. We'll see how long that lasts though!

Do they not have Sharpies in the UK yet?

Here in Ireland we have a silly rule where only pubs who serve food worth over €9 can open and you’re only allowed to stay 105 mins.

I’ve been to a couple of places. One did force food on us and the other didn’t. Neither were in any rush to make us leave at 105 mins.

Both were socially distanced and table service. If it wasn’t for the idiots we could be fine.
