Well most people know that OGS is not gonna win United any trophies are take them any closer to competing than they are right now
Doesn’t mean Maureen didn’t completely fail and is a large part of the reason United consider just qualifying for CL as a successful season
It's different though. Mourinho had a draw away from home but in the 2nd leg, he chose a negative approach. I remember we didn't attack anything as if we were just happy to keep the cleansheet.
Ole had to take some blame yesterday, but no one criticised his lineup and mindset at the start of the game. He deserve a new season for what he did for us. However, he'll need to learn quickly otherwise fans will be on his neck very soon.
It was very different, Jose said we were underdogs. He played Fellaini up front and our football was abysmal.
So why is the standard different for Ole?
It isn't Ole just finished 3rd and made 3x SF.
Jose had us 6th and sinking, so was sacked.

its the turgid football mate
Mourinho is very good at getting the best results out of his squad, but he leaves clubs in a poor state, with no eye on the future and no concern about the state of the football to get there.
There's more to United fans' opinion of Ole and Jose than one game vs Sevilla.

All I’m getting is that you all like Ole and don’t like Mourinho and this explains the blatant double standards when it comes to judging them.
They lost to Sevilla in the last 16 under Mourinho for one thing, whereas they lost in the semis here. And as with Spurs fans, people expect more than a last 16 of a major cup competition under "winner" Jose.
That's now 2 last 16 losses for Mourinho in the CL to Sevilla and Leipzig.

Okay well there's a lot more than that to it.
As I remember, it was the fairly cowardly performance we'd put in, and Mourinho's comments afterwards, that annoyed people, not so much the defeat itself, though that was of course hard to take.
Solskjaer has undertaken more of a rebuilding job than Mourinho too. We went into that CL tie with Sevilla as clear favourites and lost deservedly, while last night we probably weren't favourites (or perhaps only just) and by all accounts had more than enough possession and chances to win.
Lastly, though Mourinho got us second (and an FA Cup final) that season, it seemed clear that his team and his reign at Old Trafford were already on the downturn, while Solskjaer's side has demonstrably improved over this season.

Under Mourinho they were knocked out in the Champions League. This was an awful result, Sevilla are not known for good performances in this competition. Last night they were knocked out in the Europa League. This is fine, Sevilla are kings of the Europa League.

We all rooted for Mourinho when he got the Europa league (although he complete gave up the top 4 race to do that).
However, every season after that, we just slowly declined. The football got worse, atmosphere was toxic between manager and players. The season he was sacked was his 3rd season, so it was clear that he wouldn't improve anything at United. Now Ole just had his 1st full season and got us back to the CL. I'm sure we'll be calling for his head if we start poorly next season
Remember also that Solskjaer isn't trying to emulate Mourinho, he's trying to emulate Klopp, who lost in the Europa League to Sevilla early in his Anfield reign. All I learned last night was that we will win the CL in around 2023 and the PL in around 2024.
