should have been in it last season or the season before, farcical that he has to wait to be in the Premier league to be chosen.
Brilliant. Well done Kalvin.
Well earned.
How long until Jamie Shack gets his callup?
England boss Gareth Southgate on Kalvin Philips being involved:
"He is a player we have watched a lot in the last 12 months with Leeds.
"The position he plays is one where we need competition for places. It's an exciting moment for him.
"I spoke to him this morning, which was a nice reminder of what it means for somebody to be in their first England squad. It's a proud moment for him, his family and his club."
^^^^^
As a kid I always imagined I'd get that call. Didn't we all?
Can't imagine what that reality must feel like. Massively happy for him.
KP is well on the way to legendary status at Leeds.
He could have made a big money move to premiership with massive increase in wages. If I remember correctly A.Villa offered £25,000,000 for him.
Mr Radz is quoted as asking him to stay at Leeds for another season to try and make it to the premiership with Leeds.
He stayed and its all worked out rather well for him.
And well done to the owners for refusing Villa's offer.
Great news for him.
But how bad is that England central midfield in this squad 🙈🙈🙈
Amazing news, really happy for him.
In 2 weeks, we'll be watching an England game involving a current Leeds Utd player...this club has come a long way
The stick Philips used to get on here......what a transformation.
Bielsa has turned him around amazingly.
cant believe the difference between what he was and what he is now.
Delighted for the lad

I was one of those. He was so inconsistent and gave the ball away so much.
Bielsa has transformed him from day 1. I remember the first Bielsa game against Stoke - I really was in disbelief that MB had picked Phillips for that opening game.
I'm delighted to have had to eat humble pie for the entirety of the last two seasons. He has barely put a foot wrong in that whole time.
PS - congrats to Kalvin on his well-deserved England call up!
Delighted for Kalvin, he has completely transformed his career in the last 2 seasons.
On another note, it seems villla fans can't get their head around the fact that KP and Grealish play completely different positions and roles

Or the fact grealish is a complete Kant and Southgate picks players he can trust
Grealish missed out as he is leading the British Diving team the same week.

Honestly who would have thought it a few years ago when he was a skinny shy lad struggling to fit into a midfield in a more advanced position, with many of us questioning him.
Deserves a lot a credit. Done himself and the club proud
From a player perspective, Marcelo’s best achievement at Leeds United
Can see him been a regular
I always go back to Redders & Lucy. They pegged
him as being a star back then. Said it just needed
the right coach. Take a bow Messiah.
Fair play to him, he's been different class for a couple of seasons.
I have only ever seen him look good under Bielsa however (sorry, but he was average at best 3 years ago) so I hope he does himself justice in what will be a totally different environment. He not really been out of form for two whole seasons now and it's a position that we are really lacking depth in, so it's a great opportunity for him with the Euros about 9 months or so away. Good luck to him.
Numerous coaches have picked him, he's clearly been doing something right for longer than just Bielsa's tenure.
He has Jonty.
But MB unlocked his true potential.
No one else has got close.
