in an ideal world they all go and we go and find one cheapish CB and a quality RW.

in an optimistic world they all go bar pereira, who falls to 3rd choice behind greenwood/new signing on the right, and bruno/VDB as CAM, and jones.

most likely scenario is that we sell romero and smalling, release rojo, and keep the rest.

Smalling will, Romero might, but I’d scatter all the others first

Of those listed I'd say Smalling is the only one who'd get a run of games in the first team. The others are squad players at best and aren't likely to play much moving forward you'd think. Well, enough for them to want to stay anyway if they have ambitions to keep playing regular football.

I don't see them all going though and I think it'll be Smalling, Romero, Rojo and Lingard who'll leave from that list above.

i just want to point out - again - that if jones does not leave this summer, next season will be his 10th at manchester united.

i know that chelsea (in)famously had some guy who was their longest serving player, been at the club 7 or 8 years, and had never played a match for them, but can anyone think of another player who has hung around for so long at a club whilst offering so little?

All should go if we get a decent offer although wouldn’t let all 3 of Rojo, Smalling & Jones go without 1 replacement CB.

Same with Lingard, Pereira & Mata. If all 3 go we need at least 1 attacking addition.

Jones has been around for so long because no one in their right mind would pay a penny for him, but we are stupid enough to keep giving him new contracts thinking they will.

He nearly did a decade with us didn't he? Not a bad player, but had a few bad years with injuries

Feck me, May only made 13 PL appearances in his last 6 seasons with us. Its a shame, as he was a decent squad player for the first 3 years.

He was good in the dressing room apparently. Walked past him once along Deansgate and he never even said hello.

I forgive him though for his shameless gatecrashing of the 99 CL trophy lifting celebration at the Nou Camp.

Romero, sell
Smalling
Rojo sell
Jones definitely sell
Pereira sell
Lingard keep as utility player
Mata , sell as surplus to requirement in his position.

Smalling, useful cover but likely to move on

It's all very well, but who in their right mind will buy Jones.
Not his fault of course, in fact I enjoyed watching him, but he can't play three games together

Rojo will be sold, but in a way I'll be sorry to see him go, as I've said before.
If the other team had a bully as a striker, point him out to Rojo and tell him to mark him, job done. Though Rojo was probably sent off the bully was in the treatment room.

Romero - Deserves a move
Smalling - Get as much as we can
Rojo - Release him
Jones - Offer him a free
Pereira - Get what we can with a sell on percentage
Lingard - Offer him a free
Mata - Offer him a free

Got to be £30m in fees and close to £500k per week in wages there that can towards the CB and forward we all know we need.

I'll keep Smalling and sell the rest.
