Willian played pretty well. Unlucky not to score.
Ceballos get dropped for kicking off in the warm up?
Some positive signs from Gabriel, despite a shaky start. Him and the goal the only positive things I can say about the first half.
Elneny/Xhaka pairing looking solid to me.
Gabriel calm and solid.
Laca working well and Willian looks tidy.

Laca playing well either he wants to stay or putting himself in the shop window 🤔

Elneny the definition of a spare tyre
----------------------------------------------------------------------
actually done more than xhaka. He is playing deeper. and we have been able to get out against the press. Xhaka needs to do more.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They just stand next to each other. Awful pairing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The one who plays higher has to dictate tempo. in the past we've had , vieira, cesc, Arteta, rosicky, even wilshere. Thats where the play slows or we don't have the incisive pass. Aouar would be perfect there.

Agree. We are desperate for him. We'd look an entirely different team.
We can get more out of xhaka though
Ains been superb other than that pass back
New fan favourite ceballos should come on for elneny
Movement in attack has been good. Holding with some strange passing.

I hope so. But he is entirely too deliberate in his passing. That slows it down. tbf it is the first game. and we are ahead so good.
Okay half from us, would like us to have more possession though in their half

Nothing to worry about.
My thinking was that AMN deploys as a left wing back only for specific games to counter threats of ultra quick players like Salah and Wolves Adama Traore .
Saka should be starting as a left wing back against the likes of Fulham; his natural left foot provides the needed balance.

Gabriel played 20 more passes than any other of our players
Eddie instigated it, no doubt in my mind, should be dropped to save the quadruple
Gabriel's had a really good game aside from that miscommunication in the opening 5-10 minutes. My only criticism is that sometimes he needs to play the ball faster, he wants a second too long on the ball before finding a passing option. But aside from that, done really well.
Holding has concerned me. He keeps trying to be 'aggressive' and win the ball high, and not only is he not winning it, but he's leaving a huge gap in behind that, luckily, Fulham haven't exploited.
Aubameyang too hasn't really been in the game and has put in a few lazy challenges when getting back.
We've been a bit ill disciplined in some situations, but we've been fairly comfortable overall. Fulham haven't offered much going forward.
We should really be 2-0 up though, we've had a few other good chances since the goal.
Hope we can score a couple more in the second 45.
