so let us not rewrite history and pretend Rangers fans showed any kind of real solidarity with Neil Lennon in the face of murder attempts on his life by their own fans.

Aye Hector, real 'men' crack jokes about people with disabilities and score points on the back of peoples deaths, so in this aspect, i am no where near a real man.

Grow a pair you wee girls blouse.

What points did I score btw?

Neil Lennon's a phannie. I think we can all, on both sides of the OF, agree on that. He is laughable as a person (nothing to do with his mental illness... that can happen to anyone). His actions and behaviour on and off the field are really funny. He looks/is manky. He tries hard to come across as 'balanced' at times, I'll give him that. He will hopefully be here for a long time. I'll give him until February or so, however. Pity.

Iamthenumber,

Mate, if you think we were all going to hold an all night vigil for him then you are totally misled.

The fact is, it isnt for Rangers or the majority of their support to pass comment on, the bomb/s and bullets were the actions of two men, not acting on behalf of Rangers but acting on their own twisted bigoted beliefs.

The fact that you seem to think that because you 'bumped in' to people who thought Lennon brought it on himself means nothing. Thats like saying because i bump into Celtic fans who still chant about the IR.A and dirty orange bassas, that it is a reflection on "a lot" of fans. It isnt, they are individual views.

I also distinctly remember a lot of Rangers fans openly denounce and show disgust towards to low lifes who sent threats, some did announce their disgust folloed by a "but" which isnt on, but for you to smear a vast number of peoples views, far beyond your social circle by saying that the majority of us thought he deserved it is a blatant lie and misguided.

Truth be told, it's the Celtic fans who have an unhealthy obsession with Lennon.

They're tolerating failure under him. They're accepting, hell celebrating, (for the first time in their history) second best under him.

I'd say a mass of people declaring : "We are all Neil Lennon" is a signg of obsessiveness on a scary scale.

But hey, if the Bhoys want to bury their heads in the sand, let them.

They're becoming adept at it.

You are trying to rewrite history your way.

I do no know one rangers fan who did not think what happened to Lennon was totally out of order.

I think the ...but... that people tried to put in was that if Lennon calmed down a bit with his antics then those who are so easily provoked wouldnt get provoked.

This isnt blaming Lennon - its just acknowledgeing that some people are easily provoked.

And of course Lennon should be able to behave the way he likes - thats fine I am happy with that. Well within reason, within the laws of the land and the laws of the game.

Its just a fact of life that, say - for example - going to the Rangers fans and cupping his ears might have been a joke to Lennon but to these nutjobs that inherently hate him and are looking for any excuse to blow their tiny wee fuses then that might be enough to provoke them.

It shouldnt be that way but then the world isnt like that.

The people who attacked and threatened Lennon were 100% out of order. And trying to say Rangers fans as a whole supported these actions is a terrible thing to accuse people of.

Off topic... Seeing on the news the candidates for the Irish election. A former terrorist, a Eurovision Song Contest participant, a ghay rights activist (who is the front runner) who earlier withdrew as news of his plea to Israel to release his partner, Ezra Yitzhak, who has been convicted of the statutory rape of a 15-year-old boy, became known.

Why did we buy this country?

Rewriting history would be using "I am Neil Lennon" as a negative when the reality is it was 100% supportive of a guy facing intolerable victimisation simply by being who and what he is.

TRY and think how you'd react if the boot was on the other foot.

100% Coach

Lennon has been an antagonistic @r$e for years, saying and doing REALLY stupid things. He has been a hate figure for loonies for years. Unfortunately last season he just didn't do himself any favours and escalated things by making a very public @r$e of himself, while Celtic were quite happy for him to be the frontman for all the bleating that went on.

Put his past reputation of having trouble with loyalist loonies in with his behaviour last season and you've surely got to admit it's a recipe for disaster.

And BTW the candlelit vigil is one of the most cringeworthy, embarrassing moments in Scottish football. Just ask how many of those there that night had been to chapel in the past ten years on a regular basis. Utter nonsense

Chadams - I can only go by my own experience, and in that experience the vast majority of Rangers fans did not denounce the attacks on Lennon unreservedly. The vast majority denounced the attacks but always still somehow managed to apportion some of the blame back on the victim himself. The vast majority of those who aired their opinions in public were of a similar ilk. Was this representative of the Rangers fans as a whole? There would be not reason not to assume so. If you can show me one article from 606 or one article from a Rangers fan site which unoquivically supports Lennon around the issue of murder attempts on his life then I will admit to being wrong. But imo for all the words written about Lennon at the time you will not find a single one.

Ah yes, Lennon is also to blame for the Death Threats from the `supporters' of the Norn Irn national team.

Unless you spoke to the Majority of Rangers fans, you have no reason to assum that they ARE all like that mate.

I think you will find that if you could go back to BBC 606 and look at articles, you WOULD find plenty denouncing it unequivocally.

Its just to me, you are jumping the gun and making generalisations on THOUSANDS of people you have never met.

There have been lots of people in the game who rubbed opponents and fans up the wrong way. So why has Neil Lennon had murder attempts on his life when Walter Smith acted worse on the touchline and Ian Ferguson was just as hated on the pitch?
