Always fking crying about something you lot
---
Same with you as well, I remember a fair bit of moaning from your lot in the FA Cup final.
BBC said Mane was lucky to get away with it, due to the usual 'too early in the match to be a red' excuse.
Probably because it wasn’t a red card?
It wasn’t a red card!
He went to push him in the top of his arm and it slid up to his face, think a yellow was about right!
Not really disgraceful is it. Sky haven't mentioned it because it objectively wasn't a red card offence.
---
Deliberate elbow to the face is a red card. If it was seen as an accident he wouldn't of given a yellow card. End result was that he didn't have the bottle to send him off, end of.

Of course it was a red clear movement toward the player

Orange card for me where you could argue either way, definitely wasn't a blatant red.

Thats clearly not true. Cards are given for accidental, but reckless actions all the time.
I think Mane wmbenefitted from it being so early in the match and him not looking and so it being deemed accidental rather than deliberate.
We've seen reds for less but that would have been a harsh red still. two wrongs dont make a right, yellow right call, no intention manes hand starts off shoulder height and he just gets it all wrong and catches tierney. No malice in that for me.
no huge surprise, of the 6 ever-present PL teams they have both the fewest yellow and red cards.
and despite united's recent spurt, they also have more penalties than any other team.

Come on you won the game it's done and dusted and you deserved 3 points. Have a backbone and admit he got away with one. It actually shows fortitude and strength to be able to admit things not just mindlessly defend everything

If he’d just made contact with his face then yes but he doesn’t, he makes contact with his shoulde4 and then slips up to his face.

Oh yes one game where the entire world agreed the ref was sh’t is the same as Arsenal fans finding something to cry about every single time they lose.

It was an orange, as someone said, ref can make either and it won't get overturned. Some you get away with it others you don't. Personally I think he took a good ol "Accidentally on purpose," shot. Mane has done that high arm thing, way too often for it to be an accident and more than enough times to have near perfected disguising intent and making it look like one.
However, as the ref, I'd not have given him a straight red at the based on that theory. But he damn sure would have gotten a red a little further down the line, following his second yellow, for ploughing through the back of Xhaka, then knee-dropping him in the back.
End of the day though it doesn't matter. If ya going to sit back, leave TAA 10 yards of space and let him pick his passes all game, pool can afford to get two players sent off and beat you..
