Silly question to ask me mate, I'm just a poster on JA606. But if you cant figure that anyone would want him then thats on you bro...Lmao

So you don't know any clubs willing to buy him. Because there is no market for him.

The Logical One is going to be shocked when I tell him no-one has bought internationals like Torreira and Sokratis, world cup winners Mustafi and Ozil etc. He seems to think you just have to want to sell a player and there is a massive queue for them
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If you can't figure out the difference between Leno and those four you mentioned then all I can do is laugh 😅
Otamendi has just been sold to Benfica for 13.5 facking million
And we couldn’t hypothetically find a buyer for Leno?!

Man City paid Benfica to take Otamendi. They wanted a Benfica player desperately. Don't be naive.

You do realise that just because I don't know any doesnt mean there isn't any who would want to but him right? You do come out with some strange logic 😅🤣
City can pay Benfica to take an average never has been like Otamendi but we can’t pay Atletico to take Torreira who has a far higher ceiling for improvement? Doesn’t make sense to me.
I think you are mental if you think we’d struggle to find a buyer for Leno. Not that I want him sold, he is a decent GK after all.

No, the strange logic would be thinking there are clubs lining up for a player on big wages who you think is shiiit.
We were listening to offers for pretty much all our players. Hence why AMN was close to going to Wolves. Why Bellerin was heavily linked with a move, etc, etc. Leno - no-one was interested, his wages are massive for a keeper and none of the big clubs fancy him.
If Leno agent put it out there that he was looking to go then of course there would have been buyers

Atletico are far stronger in the transfer market than Benfica, and they want full price for Partey not Torreira. Similar to Leno, you cannot just force players on clubs.
And of course we would struggle to find a buyer for Leno. £100k a week. Come on, who wants to take that on?
Clueless to think there wouldn't have been buyers for a German international goalkeeper

Ok mate, absolutely no one would want to buy Leno, proven international keeper. 🤷♂️
Proven international keeper? 7 caps is proven? He isn't even rated by his own fans, let alone top scouts.
Clubs are queueing up for proven international full back Kolasinac. All those bids, no wonder we are taking so long deciding who to sell him to.
Oh, your logic doesn't seem to work here.

£100k/week isn’t really that much for a player of his quality especially in this market. But again this takes away from the reality that we should not have sold either
£100k/week isn’t really that much for a player of his quality
=======
Not a lot of clubs pay their keeper that much.
Yea but not a lot of clubs have keepers of Leno’s ability
There is no evidence that Leno was ever or is available.
Look at Pep and his trouble with keepers. I think Arteta comes from the same mind. They want the keeper to play out from the back with his feet and sweep behind a high line. Sweeping is something that Leno does have over Emi. Though his distribution is awful.
But for me Leno is so poor against floated balls into the box that any level of sweeper/keeper quality Leno possesses is negated. And his palming a simple save into a dangerous area is unforgivable because shot saving is something Leno is supposed to be good at.
I hope we buy Raya or someone else cause that Runar geezer doesn't look good enough to push Leno in any way.
I'm sorry, but I'm with DJ on this one. If Leno was put on the market, you wouldn't fetch even half his paper value in this market. Apart from Chelsea no one is that desperate for a goalkeeper in that wage class, all the top 6 clubs in the big leagues either have a decent goalie or are waiting to snatch up bargains due to Corona.
In fact, that's why Suarez went to Atletico for free, why Vidal went for free. In any other year you would find loads of English/Chinese club with too much money taking a shot. Many clubs will go bankrupt with 1 more black swan event in the next 12 months and will want to keep wage bills as low as possible while being competitive.

At this point in time, no, really. If a top club was looking for a new goalkeeper, lets say Utd because they are done with Dave, I would expect them to look at for example Onana or maybe a goalie from one of the Portuguese clubs. They will be on much lower wages and have similar prices. Also, a goalkeeper might not be the first priority, there are some gaping holes in most top squads waiting to be filled with a field player.
Keepers signed in this window:
Mendy - Chelsea (€24m)
Ramsdale - Sheff Utd (€20m)
Martinez - Villa (€20m)
Schwolow - Hertha (€8m)
Bernardoni - Angers (€7.5m)
Where is the market? Which big clubs are in for a keeper?
The titular question is easy to answer - we sold the keeper we could sell.
Bats question is different - why did we sell either. The answer is probably because we needed £20m (AMN nearly went for the same amount), Emi wanted guarantee he was #1 so made it impossible to keep both, and Arteta made the call that he couldn't give that guarantee. Thus Emi became the obvious choice to sell.
Hopefully we needed the £20m to buy Partey and Aouar - but we may never know the true reason we were desperate for that sum.

So it looks like we sold the wrong keeper..
