They're playing one of the best teams in the world. Of course they aren't going to look as good.

We grew into the game, and I'm happy with the performance. Bar a couple good saves we'd be level.

True, but the goal came from yet another poor ball out from Meslier.

Costa seems to lack fitness

City don't play with a striker so Cooper or Koch should step in midfield to make a two in midfield. City dropp off of the striker position and their wide players want to make the diagonal runs behind.

Thing is we're up against a manager that knows MBs style tactics and strengths, we'll not get many tougher games than this

A lot to like about that performance. Man City clearly a class above us but that’s ok at this stage. We have still managed to play some good stuff. Retain possession after the first 20 And create chances.

Klich looks even better at this level than at Championship. Roberts doing some nice things. Koch looks excellent.

Cooper has a shocker for the goal and Phillips needs to adapt to this level.

At the end of the half Klich is now coming much deeper to take the pressure off Phillips. I think this is a really good move and necessary against a side like Man City.

Liverpool and City are a different level compared to the rest of the league.

I wouldn't knock any of our lads. They're up against one of the best teams in the world, three or four weeks into our return. And we're getting back into this.

We worked it better last 20. Missing Harrison as an outlet.. we’ve struggled to get men free to pass to.
