Lampard is an idiot. Sign a big name striker for a lot of money and wreck his confidence by playing him out wide. Seriously, how furrrking stupid can you be
I don’t like him being played on wing as if he’s not offering anything on the ball it is better for him to be up front then on the wing. However, I think he would be having similar issues when played up front on his own. He will have to learn to adapt his game. Regardless with the injuries we’ve had we end up having to play someone ‘out of position’ on the wing (if it wasn’t Werner it would be Mount or Havertz) until Pulisic and Ziyech are back.
Well he did score in midweek. Also had a good chance into the box after a run from havertz.
I think we’re going to just see inconsistency from the new lads as they get used to the team/league. Chillwell looks up and running and not surprising as he was obviously in the pl.

Why would you kill the confidence of your big money striker by playing him out wide where it's harder for him to score goals as he settles in and begins his Chelsea career?
it's terrible player management and you know it.

Not as stupid as has-been Mourinho when he had us teetering just above the relegation zone, just before we sacked his ass.

Do you not think it's poor management? I know because it's me people will make Mourinho jibes and blah blah blah but lets be serious for a second. Do you not think it's poor management for Lampard to manage a new expensive and relatively inexperienced striker in this way? The worst thing to do is kill his confidence and that's what Lampard's setting up to happen.
Should have been given the second penalty imo

Do I think it's poor management? No not really. Both Pulisic and Ziyech have been unavailable which has necessitated Werner playing wide. A position I might add that he's more than familiar with.
And if he hasn't been scoring goals from wide then so what? He's not as expected to as if he's playing as a striker.
As for "killing his confidence" I'm not sure what you mean by this exactly. Have you personally spoken with Timo to know his inner feelings? At the moment he's adapting to a brand new league and it will inevitably take time to adapt.
As soon as Pulisic can start then Werner will play more centrally and I'm very confident that he'll score a hatful of goals there once he's up and running fully.
Without pulisic and ziyech other than cho we don’t have a winger so Werner has had to play wide. A reason frank bought versatile players. Good management

Exactly. One all fit, Werner will go in the middle
'Feel sorry for him? He was obviously signed as a striker but has managed to start their once since his move.'
Nope, Timo knows what he signed up for.
Signed due to his versatility of playing in different positions and ruthlessness in front of goal.
Also I did say previously that Tammy & Timo will be competing for first-choice spot and there will a number of occasions when they play together as well, long-old season. They can co-exist in the same lineup.
Frank was never going to just abandon what Tammy provides as a frontman which his goals (scoring 15, the most non-penalty goals in his debut PL season is no mean feat) and work-rate (makes himself a nuisance on opposition defence).
Without Tammy, we don't make top 4 last season.
They are both goal-getters.
Frank been yearning for ruthless finishers in the box, would want them both in the team.
Was never a given that Timo solely plays in the striker position for those reason, I've not got an issue with him playing as a left (inside) forward.
Familiar with that position and gets goals from that position, benefits hugely from making darting movements at the back-post to getting on the end of crosses. Ziyech, Callum, Reece will provide said crosses.
Fallacy that he's incapable of playing on the left.
Anyway Timo is not really fixed to left side, there's a lot of fluidity.
Strikers are unique in that they will be judged by how many goals they've scored and the fact Werner has started with 1 goal in 5 games will affect his confidence, whether you'll acknowledge it or not. Why do you think Werner wanted the penalty yesterday? He wouldn't have done that if he'd already scored yesterday I bet.

He’s a player who thrives in space playing where there is none. If he is to play on the wing it needs to be in a 4-3-3.
------------------------------------------------------
- I'll judge him from LW once I see him playing there in a 433 more.
From LW in 4231 there's nowhere for him to go unless he links up with the CF (which makes it more of a 424). He needs the jump on players to then roast them with his pace, he's not comfortable taking on players one vs one.
Both werner and Abraham wanted it idiot(s)

"After they had been awarded a penalty, Abraham and Timo Werner seemed to both want to take it, but Abraham took the ball."
Don't call someone an idiot when you're the one who's wrong dipshiiit moron.
Werner may have been telling Tammy that Jorginho is the penalty taker?
Lol classic wahl conjecture
"Jorginho was okay with Abraham taking it and then Werner wanted it but Azpi came in and gave it to Jorginho who's designated. This footage in video wasnt shown in some broadcast"
If I was manager I would have told Azipi or whoever to give it to Werner. Not really a major issue, mind.
Hard to feel sorry for a player that has won us two penalties and scored a cracker agst Spurd
