We've only lost one game this season and that was an unlucky defeat against the champions.

If Arteta thinks Martinelli is good enough then he'll play him. If not, he won't. I'm willing to trustArteta's judgement. Clearly you aren't.

I love Arteta but let's not put him on a pedestal. He can and has made mistakes. He has shown a particular liking to Eddie even early this year when Martinelli was fit.
Also..the 343...it is great when we need to counter against big teams but even you must admit that we look SHOCKING when we have the initiative. Yes we need 3 at the back when Luiz is playing but why can't we go 4231 or 433 when at home vs Sheffield?? Hoding and Gabriel as a back 2 would work.

So yes..i love Arteta, but I am not giving him a free pass on everything. And Nketiah is a mistake

We have 4 strikers and no midfield players. Ideally we need to sell Laca and then use Eddie/Martinelli/Balogun as subs and develop them behind Auba.

I agree with the OP, Martinelli when fit looked really good, Nketiah doesn't - losing Martinelli has been a big blow. I will be concerned if Arteta can't work this out.

Mane should have walked for starters and wouldn't have scored the equaliser, him getting away with it was a game changer.

Look at what Martial just got a straight red for and compare it to Mane on Tierney absolute joke

Well I guess we may as well shut down this forum

There was a bit of a myth that Arteta wasn't playing Martinelli. Truth is he started 50% of the games he was available. At the time he also had two spells out due to injury. It is probable that he was overused and that contributed to his current injury, and Arteta was probably trying to manage him before then.

Is Laca named in the french squad for upcoming internationals? If so then playing Eddie today makes perfect sense.

I don't expect Martinelli to be played much this season at all. It's a long lay off to come back from at such a young age. Great for healing potential but bad for confidence and form. Fans have to be patient there. Don't expect him to come back and be as electric as he was at first, straight off the bat. Also don't read too much into a lack of game time this season. He's best wrapped in cotton wool a while anyway. Far too much potential to rush and risk him. He a baby so we have ages.

No, of course not. Eddie is playing in the internationals though.

Not sure why we would rest a player for internationals anyway.

I miss Martinelli and I'm confident he will be one of the best PL strikers if he stays injury-free.

Pray that he recovers 100%, has no lasting effects and can get back to the level he was at then kick on from there.
