Got to be going for three points here. Hopefully a smoother performance after a good week on the training ground.

Question will be what Nuno will do with Saiss? Kilman deserves to keep his spot and surely Marcal or Aït-Nouri will be ahead of Saiss at wing back?

Has to be Donk and Neves to me, Moutinho just doesn't have it at the moment and maybe just needs a good breather.

Looking at things it is good to finally have a squad to choose from this season, a few players that are good enough will even miss out on the 18 these days.

Cinci I think you may have to be patient to see an appearance for Ait-Nouri. If you remember it was nearly 6 months before Podence got his chance but he sure was worth the wait.

I suspect you will be right Gem. I just want us to be more progressive and attacking and that is what the aim is supposed to be, if so then it has to be Aït-Nouri and not Marcal sooner rather than later.

Trying to get cinci to be patient is like asking Trump to tell the truth, I'm afraid.

I'm sure Saiss was played to help with any threat that came from Costa. He actually played well and had that screamer disallowed.

Kilman was my man of the match, so I hope he doesn't get dropped. Midfield will again be the talking point (imo). Dendonker has a solid but quiet game and Neves almost scored IN THE PENALTY BOX. Our problem may be trying to break down a side who will be looking to park the bus.

3-4-3 for me with Boly, Coady and Kilman at the back and Neto, Jimenez and Podence up front. Midfield I'll take a pass on.

Another one shown live over here, so I hope it's 4/4 for me.

Neves is an interesting topic. Still nowhere near his best but I reckon he has appeared in the oppo's penalty box more often this season than he did in the whole of last. This must be Nuno's doing and, for me, is a good development.

Im patient, I just base my targets on the clubs targets. Top six is the undoubted aim.

And Saiss(quite possibly my favourite wolves player these days) played because Marcal isn't fully fit and Ait-Nouri had to wait to be cleared after a Covid outbreak. Saiss should not under any circumstances play that position when Marcal or Ait- Nouri are fit though.

I still think Neves is under appreciated. We never look as good when he isn’t playing in my opinion and even when he isn’t doing the spectacular shooting and passing I think he is key to how we play.

My concern is much more Moutinho who I don’t think has played as well since about three quarters through last season

What has to be encouraging is our position in the table. Last season with the early season fixture pile up we were struggling for points and the season could easily have gone pear shaped.

This season we have a great platform to move forward from. And the new players, plus the ones who could have pushed for a move, must look at the table and feel they made a good choice

I highlighted the Moutinho situation earlier in the season and I said then that we should be looking for cover for him. I agree with DJ that we never look quite as good without Neves, so I suspect that he will start .
All the rest, who knows except Nuno.

Dendoncker has started three games so far this season. Wolves have won three games. Is it a coincidence they were the same three games?

maybe Moutinho could be integrated into coaching staff in the near future, he must have a lot of respect amongst the players and we could tap into his vast experience, of course he may prefer a lucrative season or two in the States or somewhere to see out his playing days, not writing him off just yet as valuable player but thinking a little ahead

Good point, he definitely gives us a better all-round solidity.

Dean Smith, talking about Leeds:

"I don’t see them being in a relegation scrap at the end of the season. They’re the fittest team in the league and every team that has played against them so far has actually got their top numbers during that game."

Did we get our top numbers, whatever that means?

Just seen there is another international break in three weeks. Are we having more than usual at the moment? It seems quite ridiculous how many internationals there are in the middle of a global pandemic.

posted on 21/10/20

Yep, squeezing them all in to catch up. Even the Asian confederation cancelled fixtures but good ol' uefa can't manage that. Ridiculous.

Next season there will only be one international break, extending from October 1st until March 31st. League matches will fit around that.

A 6 month international break?

in 2022 the world cup takes place mid November to mid December so that will disrupt the 2022-23 season quite drastically..

One name on that list which is strange is Miranda. Where is he, what is he doing, does he play at all?

posted on 21/10/20

He played most of last season in the Portuguese top fight believe it or not.
