The whole purpose of the lockdown is to stop peop'e going out unless necessary. If people can't see this then you're right to ask that question!
Because lockdowns don’t work and are inhumane. More people are suffering and dying everyday from a lot worse things than COVID. Shouldn’t have to spend their remaining days locked under the stairs because of some myth that lockdowns will suppress an airborne virus

Not disagreeing or agreeing with lockdowns but they absolutely slow the spread of the virus. It's not really up for debate.
Funny how since masks were mandatory infections only ever went up as well they never got as low as the day before the mask mandate
Again, they’d work effectively if everyone used them correctly and properly and didn’t touch their face etc but it’s impossible for 75% of people to do that so they cause more harm than good

But then as soon as they inevitably bounce back up after half term will they then lockdown again? Then again and again and again.

That's exactly what they want yes, because otherwise hospitals will become overwhelmed.
I still maintain as it’s the governments excuse they’re doing all of this for the older people (who the majority don’t even want this they just want to see their families) they should do a national referendum/vote to over 60’s only. Yes for lockdown or No for let’s get on with our lives and whatever will be will be and stop having whatever time we have remaining of life not go to waste
No would win at a landslide.

Even the Manchester hospital executive director said they’re at normal capacity for winter
It's an extremely contagious virus, and it won't go away until there's a vaccine.
You can't just let it run riot, though. Look at the hospital admission and death rates going up. Winter is hard enough for the NHS, and this would just cause it to completely implode. Lockdowns are sheit, but it needs to be slowed down somehow.
You don’t let it run riot, you do your distancing, you wear the mask; you keep your distance, and the rule of 6.
