There is a case to answer where parents who can’t afford to feed their kids keep on breeding like rabbits.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
For the parents you can make the argument.
But not for the kids. They can’t be asked to answer to anyone, and need to be fed.
Because some UK parents are thick, selfish, irresponsible and not really fit to be parents on the whole and even abuse the welfare system, does this mean that we expect their young children to have to pay back the have gots and able providers in society by starving in the streets?
Not to mention those working, decent (usually singe, female) parents on low pay whose circumstances change quickly and rack up debt and are refused credit.

Rashford has been rubbish since he started this 'movement'. He needs to concentrate on his football and stop his advisor posting his tweets for him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh dear, this is much more important than football, its a joke, right?
He scored a great goal against PSG, cut him some slack.

Well done boys, keep up the good work
Petition signed, good work manu52.
Obviously helping the kids is not only admirable, but necessary. Not that is should be the responsibility of a footballer.
I'm hoping that a politician or two will take up the reins on this for him.
It's not necessarily directly responsible, but it's certainly unfortunate that his campaigning has coincided with a tremendous drop in form. Hopefully he can re-find the form that made him so critical for us in the first half of last season.

A fair point.
How do you address is though, with a welfare system that rewards people for churning out babies? I don't think education is a viable solution - everyone knows that emergency contraception is available for free on the NHS at any Lloyd's pharmacy. They choose to have kids because society will prop them up.
I'm not for a minute saying they shouldn't have kids. I just don't understand their logic.
I'm hoping that a politician or two will take up the reins on this for him.

I saw a stat the other day comparing today with the 1960s.
1960s: average 2.6 children per family, 10% child poverty rate
2020: average 1.6 children per family, 30% child poverty rate
Another pertinent stat: 70% of kids on free school meals have working parents.
Two conclusions: 1) there will always be outlier cases of benefit scrounging parents with 12 kids, but overall this
is isn't a phenomenon driven by having too many kids. 2) Above all this is driven by in-work poverty, not lazy, feckless underclass parents.
Obviously the right-wing parts of the media and tweeting Tory MPs work hard to frame things differently.

The sad reality is that having children seems to be getting more and more expensive and people earnings aren't growing to match that. There are a number of forces in play which have led to this.

Children do much better when raised in a 2 parent home, there are many legit reasons why a single parent household can occur but generally speaking the less single parents out there, the better

He should donate half his salary every month to help kids out, because he isn't earning it on the pitch
