Watched the game last night, seems like a talent. I hope he doesn't fall through the cracks like what Ruben Loftus-Cheek has done after his good spell at Palace or what could happen to Tammy Abraham either. Unfortunately, the Chelsea model may mean this is the case.
Him and Ampadu having solid loans would be encouraging. Gallagher in particular could lessen the blow of any Barkley departure. Can’t forget RLC on his PL loan too.

I used to watch him when we had CTV, I used to think of him as being similar to Jordan Henderson, hard working and sort of player every team needs.
He's had good loans at Charlton and Swansea, who both wanted to keep his services as rumour had it.

But harsh to say RLC fell through the cracks. He broke into the first team under Sarri (so the loan worked as intended) then got injured for an entire year and returned a worse player. That’s no one’s fault.
I don’t think he would be competing with RLC directly though, as Gallagher seems like a true box to box midfielder whereas RLC seems more of an attacking midfielder. I think RLC will have a tougher time getting back into the Chelsea team after his loan, as I can see Mount and Havertz ahead of him. Gallagher I can imagine playing in a central two alongside someone like Ampadu (if all goes well with his loan), or Gilmour. Like this:
———————-Havertz—————————
————Gallagher——Ampadu/Gilmour————
Or this:
————-Havertz———Gallagher————
—————-Ampadu/Gilmour—————-—
