Yeah. Not sure how that sits with me to be honest. A ring?? Really not sure. I'd rather a replica trophy or medal.
Imagine if they started giving out belts like wrestling. Every week Henderson walks out with the EPL title belt and holds it up before kick off.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm on board with this. When the refs back is turned he can use it to whack opposing players over the head. Only punishable if the ref sees him do it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Or before a big, big game the EPL would announce a special guest referee. City vs United, SAF special guest referee with his son as linesman.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is what Project Big Picture should have been about
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This would have made the Pay per view matches worth it. Each team having a whole squad royal rumble in order to win a place in the starting line-up.
Instead of a coin toss, kick off is decided by whichever captain climbs a ladder and retrieves the refs whistle.

Good article, I didn’t know that.
A mini trophy looks much better on the mantelpiece than a medal.
-------------
agree, since lockdown and working from home came into play, I made a spare room into a full blown office.. I've put some of my sporting trophies up - the medals ruin my display.
mind you, I don't have nay visitors, and I live alone, so nobody else sees them
This would have made the Pay per view matches worth it.

I wouldn't pay a penny to watch Liverpool too, like you.
What a typical 5hite Liverpool fan you are.

No accounting for taste but I reckon it'd look better around the neck too. Bit flash but I like it.

Lol
If you win a trophy of any kind it's nice to have a little momento. Players usually get a photo of them holding the trophy to put somewhere at home but it's the knowledge that you won it that is important for yourself. Little replica for the mantelpiece that you can reminisce about when your competitive years are over and times aren't so good, fine. A medal to say what you won that you can hang on the corner of a photo, fine.
When my Dad and I were both pub landlords in the same LVA area I beat him in the final of the Landlords Cup darts competition.Whe he realised I wasn't trying too hard he gave me a right boxxxxking for disrespecting him ( which was the opposite of my intentions ). So I thrashed him and won the cheap prize of an Argos type watch that probably cost about a tenner when I already had a nice Seiko, ex-mariner here, ., which I had bought in Singapore for about £60 5 years earlier.
You do it for your kids sometimes, let them every now and then to encourage to keep trying. I made the mistake of doing it for my Dad who, looking back, had always taught me that defeat makes you try harder.
So little tin pots don't matter. It's how you feel about yourself that is important, not things like how your favourite team performs. Go out tonight and hug an elderly lady or preferably a younger lady ( without getting arrested) abnd enjoy the game tonight. 2-1 to United..
If you have read all of this and wanr to criticise then you must be as bored or ill as I am.

Yes, typical Liverpool fans raising over £100,000 for charity.
https://www.thisisanfield.com/2020/10/liverpool-fans-raise-over-100000-for-foodbanks-in-ppv-tv-protest/amp/
So tell me, why do you think helping charities is 5hite? Or is it only bad when Liverpool do it?
Trying to stick to the OP post - Yeah, i like the miniture trophies over medals. But do agree that they should be handed out in milestones reached. Or at least should be customised? or personalised to each achievement made. If in a 'normal' winning season, then just a 'normal' miniture replica of the trophy would also be nice for the players.
As for those wrestling comments
An article that isn't totally rubbish. Well done Culer 👍🏻

I think it would be an idea that on the back of the medals it showed their appearances and goal stats etc for forwards

I am excited to see United tonight. I have a feeling Ole has sat and thought long and hard about his selection. I wish I could get inside his head. I want to get inside that man so badly, expect an article tomorrow when United win my friend!

I get what you're saying on that, but it would only be fair if all title winning players got their personal stats highlighted on their miniture trophies or non at all.
Or if an individual player had an exceptional season, his stats got highlighted.
They give out mini replicas of the World Cup trophy to players who win that, in addition to the medals.
Also, I remember a Chelsea player posting a pic with mini replicas of the PL and League Cup after winning those in the 14-15 season. But those may have been commissioned by the club.
rings are the worst memento. none of the players ive met from the montreal canadians wear them. there big and gaudy for a ring but too small for a memento.
better a medal or a mini cup for the mantle.
